Great hotel!
Love the hotel and the staff! Everyone was very friendly and the location was great. However, please note they don’t have an elevator and are on the fourth floor.

A Most Interesting Place to Stay
After the initial climbing of four flights of stairs to get to the lobby (a porter did carry my bag for me), I was intrigued by the location of this small boutique hotel. All the rooms were around a courtyard which was the roof of the atrium below. The three-story atrium housed a myriad of small shops and offices with the first floor accommodating several small restaurants. Above the hotel rooms at one end was a terrace with a bar that seemed most active with customers at sunset. My room was ultra-spacious though simply decorated and equipped. It was bit chilly in the room in January, but a space heater was provided that made it comfortable. An included breakfast is served in a small dining area adjacent to the lobby and hotel office. It was a nice but simple buffet menu with a daily choice of two Mexican specialties, one with huevos. This building, Barrio Alameda, faces Park Alameda Central. In the evening the promenade in front of the hotel is brightly lit and active with strollers and sometimes musicians and bands. A few good restaurants stretch from the Barrio serving Italian, Valencia Paella, a buffet, and gourmet hamburgers, toward the high-rise Hilton half a block away. From the hotel it is walkable to many of the centro historical area's museums, Arts Palace, and a bit further, Metropolitan Cathedral with its daily Aztec performances and the ruins of the old city.

Cute accessories but mediocre stay (and LOUD!)
I thought this hotel was just ok. Their outdoor space and garden area are really cute. The interior is like a concrete box that echoes - do not book if you're a light sleeper. The daytime desk person helped me schedule a cab for very early the next morning. She said her colleague would assist me at the 4 am pick-up. He did not assist...and its a 4th floor walk up. The security guard did come up and help me with my bag and I was glad he was there as I left into the deserted street as cars cannot pull right up front. The accessories were cute but I wouldn't stay here again.

Perfect solo retreat!
Wonderful stay! I absolutely loved my time at Chaya. Beautiful, comfortable rooms, delicious daily breakfasts, and the friendliest staff. The outdoor and indoor spaces are filled with plants and you feel a sense of peace amidst the bustling city. Close to many major sights & easy to get transportation outside the main city. I hope to return in the future!

Central location, off a lovely park
This is a very pleasant and well-managed b&b located off a lovely park in the heart of the Historic Center of Mexico City. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful. I enjoyed the generous and well-prepared breakfast offerings. Highly recommended - I am looking forward to returning on my next trip to fascinating Mexico City.

We loved Chaya !!
Chaya was the cutest B&B located in the heart of Mexico City. Every inch of the hotel—from the design to the rooms—was impeccably curated. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was the best! Would definitely recommend again.

Wonderful hip boutique hotel in the Centro
What a wonderful boutique hotel! Comfortable, hip, excellent breakfast, lovely patio with hammocks, and somehow relatively quiet in the middle of the Alameda. OK restaurants and shops on lower levels. No elevator, though, if your bags are heavy! But cannot say enough good about it.

Great getaway
The towels and robes were incredibly soft, bed was super comfortable and the shower had great water pressure and we had an incredible view. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Only minus is no a/c but other than that it was a perfect stay - there is a fan and was still comfortable. Shout out to the staff member who carried ALL of my luggage like he was carrying a bag of feathers — even across the street to where our uber was —- and with a cheery disposition. You’re a rockstar!
