Satisfactory at best
I want to be as fair as possible here because I do believe that overall, it’s not a bad choice. My biggest complaint is the quality of the mattress and most especially the pillows. I realize that I’m bringing my American level of expectation - not always a good thing. The pillows were two decorative sofa type pillows and what was supposed to be the main pillow for sleeping was a lumpy bag of stuffing. It was simply a very old and well used pillow. But actually my biggest compliant was that it wasn’t very clear how to get into the establishment. When I arrived, I couldn’t enter the appropriate address due to front door being locked. After pressing the call button the buzzer for quite some time, I was buzzed in. But, there was no clear place to go. Finally I saw a sign that indicated the patrons could use the lift and sort of told you where it was. I got in the elevator but so no clear indication of which floor to go to. Later I noticed a small sticker, like that a child might apply mischievously, near the button for floor 4. The button clearly said The House. However, I had ignored that due to thinking it childish playfulness. So, I finally go to 4th floor and go the the well marked door and rang the bell. A kind woman who spoke no English came and showed me in. He than called someone and gave me the phone. I spoke to a very kind young man named Joāo. He apologized for not being there, asked if I could go park the car and he would meet me there in 15-20 minutes. All good then.

Exceptional 10.0
Joâo, the manager when I checked in, could not have been nicer, more personable, professional, and accommodating. He really went out of his way to make sure that my very brief stay was comfortable. My room was very clean, comfortable, and the views were fantastic. TheHouse was a little treasure--it is affordable, well situated, well managed, and peaceful. I was there in June, and I plan on staying there again in July. My one and only concern is that the rooms are not as insulated as I would have liked inside the building. I could definitely hear people opening and closing their doors--so if you have inconsiderate neighbors their comings and goings might wake you up if you are a light sleeper. On the other hand, the breakfast buffet starts early and last until mid-morning so you can always grab some great breakfast foods and catch up on the news in the delightful reading room.

Nice little spot away from the hustle and bustle
Francisco was very hospitable, accomodating and welcoming, going above and beyond what we asked for to make our stay comfortable. We definitely enjoyed our stay. Closest public transit seemed to be tram 28, which gets crowded due to it's fame and accessibility to all the tourist spots. It's also not very reliable if you need to be somewhere at certain time due to street traffic. While not particularly close, Uber is a great/cheap alternative if you're travelling with at least one other.

I loved this B&B
I couldn't have been happier with my choice to stay at theHOUSE Lisboa. Room was fantastic. Complimentary breakfast was delicious.Their terrace overlooking the city that was spectacular. The staff and owner were truly special people who took your comfort and enjoyment seriously. You will get that extra special attention not usually seen with the big hotels I am not one to write reviews, but I felt compelled to share this experience with others uncertain where to stay when visiting Portugal. You will not be disappointed.

Very nice boutique hotel. Clean, quite, good location. Friendly staff. Francisco, the owner, very helpful to plan our way around. Great park nearby and a lot of places to eat. Bus stop is couple of minutes away.
