The most wonderful hotel in the heart of old San Juan. Steeped in history, it has been modernised enough to give you what you need without removing it’s original charm. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and, staying off season, the price was a bargain.

The hotel staff were always around to help answer any questions or concerns. The staff worked very hard to make our vacation very relaxing and enjoyable. The free wine and cheese hour from 5pm until 6Pm was an excellent way to relax and meet people staying at the hotel. The free coffee and tea service from 9am until 12pm was very enjoyable. The free bottled water on ice all day helps you stay hydrated. The restaurant served great food and the bar service was excellent. I would highly recommend the El Convento hotel on downtown San Juan, Puerto Rico.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. It was layered with interesting architectural features and simple yet charming amenities. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. If you have only one night in San Juan, you will not regret investing in the experience of this hotel.

This hotel is amazing, they are renovating the pool but you have access to their sister hotel near by with an amazing infinity pool and bar, El Convento hotel was relaxing and near everything, free coffee without microplastics in the am was great and bottomless water bottles too, we also enjoyed Happy hour very much, my parents do not really drink and they both enjoyed some happy hour wine and cheese, the staff is super friendly. will def come one at some point. thank you for making my older parents at home.

Staying at Hotel El Convento was the best decision I made when deciding to stay in Old San Juan. The employees ensure you have the most pleasant experience and are very responsive. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and blends in with the Old San Juan aesthetic. It has a lot of fascinating history mixed in with the local art displayed throughout the hotel. I would stay here again.

I highly recommend this property. It's beauty and history are incredible. The hotel pays for a walking history tour of the hotel and old San Juan which was great. I enjoyed the complementary coffee in the morning and wine and cheese in the evening. Walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shopping.
