There are plenty of good places to go shopping on Hong Kong Island – many would find that this greater region of Hong Kong has dozens of shops, malls, and markets selling products ranging from kitsch to glitz, to sports to nightwear.

Modern shopping malls on Hong Kong Island tend to offer good bargains throughout the year, especially during annual holidays. The region's many neighborhoods are usually reachable by MTR and bus, which means that these shopping venues are within easy reach.

ong Kong’s Hollywood Road stretches from Sheung Wan to Central and is where you’ll find the historic Man Mo Temple and Central Police Station. Shopping opportunities can be found at the bustling Cat Street on Upper Lascar Row. This popular flea market is where you’ll find the highest concentration of antique stores. You'll find just about everything here, from ancient Chinese artifacts and Ming vases to furniture and paintings.

Hollywood Road remains buzzing until way past midnight, thanks to the many late-night cafes, cocktail bars, and trendy restaurants lining this popular street.

    Western Market

Western Market in Sheung Wan is a handsomely renovated Edwardian building dating back to 1906. It houses Chinese handicraft stores and fabric shops, while the area west of the market is famous for small Chinese-style shops selling dried seafood and medicinal herbs.

Western Market is also one of the oldest surviving market buildings in Hong Kong – it was declared as a national monument in 1990. There's an onsite restaurant that's popular for weddings and banquets throughout the year.

Location: Western Market, 323 Des Voeux Road, Sheung Wan, Central, Hong Kong
