The hotel was a pleasant surprise , but the underground parking not quite so . Not an ideal location for a lone person, especially in the dark . The rooms, although very clean and containing everything you need for a short stay,were a little on the small side . Special mention to the chamber maids ,who were very friendly and very helpful.The car park location and the size of the rooms aside, a very pleasant stay and good value for money, in a perfect location.....next to the castle !

Hotel used to be Best western. Stayed many times. Great location, pubs and restaurants all close by. 10 minute walk to Royal concert hall. Straight opposite the castle. Hotel newly refurbished under Sheriton name. Very nice except one minus point. They have moved the bar so now get drinks from over the counter at reception area, not as cosy as before. Still very nice hotel though and would recommend. Parking easy in NCP right next door.

Problem with all Nottingham hotels is the parking. This one has NCP parking right next to it for £17 per night which isn't bad. Breakfast at £15 is too dear, Wetherspoons is a 3 min walk away. All considered, good value for money and the room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The en-suites have been upgraded from the old St. James Hotel.

Loved our stay at St James will definitely be back! Situated in a lovely area, room was clean and comfortable all you need. Unfortunately we visited when the restaurant was out of action for refurbishment but plenty of local places to eat which were great.
