"The location is really good. A few blocks from everything and yet not super touristy. The room was very quiet. As others have said the really good thing about this place is the staff. Lisa in particular was incredible! She booked us a Ha Long Bay tour that was awesome and really well priced. Airport transfers (even at 4 am) were flawless. Good food and coffee very close by and a small convenience store 1 min away where you can buy big bottles of water. We will stay here again. "

Such a different kind of place from west coast California! The Vietnamese culture is vibrant, people are wonderful and very friendly. It is safe walking in the Old Quarter. A good way to see it the first time is to take a cyclo tour.

Hanoi is one of my favorite places to be. It is such a beautiful city with wonderful people and culture. Hoan Kiem and West Lake are beautiful and the shopping and cafes are excellent. Some very cool bars and restaurants as well!

A fascinating city. Get ready for motorcycles and smog that accompanies them. One prays for rain and willingly walks in it. Good food abounds! Access to national venues also pretty easy: only 2 hours from Ninh Binh or Ha Long Bay.

"This is my 2nd night at this hotel after a trip to the NorthWest of Vietnam. I was upgraded to a nice room with a large balcony. Large bed, firm mattress, small fridge, clean, nice, and well designed bathroom, good WiFi, tv (I can't use it to watch YouTube though), elevator free storage of luggage when I was traveling to the NortWest that I appreciate very much, free breakfast with basic food and drink. The staff even offered to let my room key inside to keep the room cool when I was out as the outside is pretty hot and humid. The only downside is that the electrical oitlers are hidden by the furniture. "

"My family of four stayed at La Nueva for four nights. The staff was extremely hospitable in all aspects. Their concierge, Jimmy, coordinated with me weeks in advance and helped to plan great trips to Sa Pa, Ninh Binh and our eventual departure to Hue. He also helped to arrange a private driver and cruise to a much less crowded section of Ha Long. It all worked out perfectly.

"Check In Good, Staff friendly, Room is big and clean. Breakfast is good, Housekeeping is really good. Location is also good. Only issue is upper-level construction that starts at 9AM. "
"I took the standard room and it was very clean and modern. It is very small and compact, you litterally open the door into the bedroom and there is another door for bathroom. It was very hot when I was there, the A/C wasn't very strong but with the fan on, I could sleep well. The door key is also used to power the room and this is common in many places. So during the day, the room got hot and the fridge, warm. It takes about 20 min for the room to cool down once you put the power back on since it is a small room. There was a power outage in the middle of the night so it got real hot, for about an hour while power was restored. I heard power outages are comon in Hanoi so not the hotel's fault. For the price and location, you can't go wrong. If you want your fridge and room to stay cool during the day, I was told (unfortunately only during checkout) that I could have asked for a second key. "
