Poor 2.0
Worst service and management ever
The place is in a very good location near to almost all the touristic spots and it has a great view of the city, but in my stay I found all dishes dirty in the dish washer, hair in the bathroom floor and tub and some empty packages in the kitchen cabinets. Cleaning fee is 60$ so I’m not sure what kind of service the cleaning company is offering. I was told about the 60$ cleaning fee, 30$ per day parking fee and 150$ Security deposit less than 24 hours to check in so I ended paying twice the price at the end. Support and management is very poor, after my stay I was told I was going to get my deposit in 5-7 days and after ten days I had to call them to ask about it and the answer was that they hadn’t process the deposit because they had to check the unit to make sure everything was ok ( 10 days after my stay) and then they tell me I have to wait another 5-10 days to get my deposit back. I complained about it and then I was told I was getting the deposit the next day. Lost my time calling

Pacific Marine Expo Weekend
Excellent location for our Pacific Marine Expo trip. The room and location was wonderful. The check in process was a little bit awkward - i think the check in guy should just practice the process, but he was very helpful and we had all the information we needed. Just one small problem with the flooring damage near the bathtub/shower, but not a big deal. I will definitely be staying here again.

OK, needs improvement
Room was OK for the original price listed. They also list a $60 cleaning fee which covers the beds and pickup. The tile floors were quite dirty and needed a mopping. Oven top was also quite dirty and the walls had black scuff marks likely from people's suitcases, so they do basic cleaning on the room but not deep cleaning at the frequency they need. They also take a $250 damage deposit which isn't listed in hotels.com but shows on the receipt. They want your information urgent but don't return the damage deposit urgent- I'm still waiting for it after a couple of calls. Security is also an issue. It's a gated community with an electronic security system but the residents of the building are a combination of renters, residents, Pelicanstayers and visitors so the security is only as good as the judgment of the residents around letting in the local homeless people. And there's no shortage of homeless people nearby. . . Luisa is the resident person who tries to help the Pelicanstayers out and she does the best she can given the tools and training she's received. The non-resident owners may mean well but they seem to be pretty much worthless when it comes to helping out folks that need it.

DO NOT BOOK HERE! NIGHTMARISH PROPERTY!!!
I don't normally review negatively on this site; but I feel that I have a responsibility to other members of this site to warn others about this property: 1. In a very sketchy and unsafe area riddled with homelessness and drug use. 2. THIS IS AN APARTMENT. NO NORMAL HOTEL SERVICES. 3. Confusing check in process. 4. Very confusing check out process that had me locked out of the property to even retrieve my car after leaving the keys in the unit. 5. Zero customer service and support. 6. Texted instructions did not match what had to be done, i.e. items and additional instructions that supposed to be in the unit and attached to the back of the front door was missing. Called numerous times for help on the furnished number, to no avail. 7. NIGHTMARE STAY!!!

Great Location, Weird Check-In Process
It’s hard to beat the location of this place! My boyfriend and I were in Seattle for the 4-day gaming convention PAX which is held at the convention center, and this place was a stone’s throw away from the light rail, super convenient. It is right in the International District and we got to walk just a few minutes to lots of delicious Asian food and of course Uwajimaya and the Kinokuniya bookstore! Beautiful view on the balcony. I will say that I didn’t realize this place was not actually a hotel until after I booked and was just perusing reviews. So traveller beware I suppose! This is an apartment complex called Icon Apartments, and you are essentially renting the apartment for your stay (you will even be charged a refundable security deposit). There were a lot of pre-check in steps to complete, so keep an eye on your email!! They were very responsive which was great. Checking in was a bit stressful, we had to drive around the building in circles while trying to contact someone to guide us because it isn’t obvious where you’re supposed to go to park (it is in an alleyway), and someone from the building has to come meet you with keys (there is no front desk, as it’s just apartments. You can’t even enter the building without a key.). But overall I’m happy with our stay! As long as you thoroughly read all emails they send you and follow instructions, you will be fine.

Ok
Issue with this place and Hotels.com. This was not a hotel. I thought it was. It is a Air B and B type apart rental. No room service. No front desk. No employees. No check in help. No bag drop. Your on your own. Which is fine if you want this. I did not. Check in was s huge hassle and a very overly complicated self check in. I didn’t like the threat of 300$ charge for losing the key Fob. Who needs that threat. Rather have a hotel card costs zero. Apartment was nice. All amenities of a full apt. Issues: hole in bathroom door. Broken blind. AC had a hard time cooling entire place was a window unit. No cable. Nothing provided but sheets and towels. Location is good but on edge of very sketchy high crime part of town. Lot of people just hanging around. Only 2 floors of 7 are short term rentals. Remaing apartments are what seems to be low income subsidies housing. Overall not for me. If you want to pack in 4 people go cheap. Be great. For 2 it was as pricey as many good better located hotels and I wished I did that. Won’t be back

Pros: apartment was good size with 1 bedroom Cons: no AC, tv doesn’t really work, entire floor of the apartment smelled like trash, homeless people and druggies hanging out in front of the apartment entrance.

Stay Away from Pelican Stay
Noisy! It was in downtown Seattle. The bed was uncomfortable. They call this a hotel and it is an apartment and run like such. Yes, you get a kitchen and washer and dryer, but you also pay a deposit, a cleaning fee, and a parking fee. These charges are not made apparent. We were told that the total price we would be charged would be 443.13. But, that is a lie. Read the fine print. The total charge is more and even their own invoice contradicts itself. It said the property will charge you a total of 443.13. Further down there is a cleaning charge of 60 dollars and a twenty dollar a day parking charge. Then there was the 150 dollar damage deposit that we HOPE to get back, but based on the fact that the blinds were not in good shape, the bedroom door was coming off it’s hinges, and the misleading information regarding cost, we are nervous they will keep that too! I was told that like with any rental property they have a right to charge for cleaning and collect a damage deposit. Except, no hotel room I have ever stayed at has collected these as additional charges. You are given a price, and that is the price you can expect to pay. We only wanted a hotel for three nights, not an apartment rental agreement! And to add injury to insult we were told to take out our trash. Unlike other hotel experiences, there is no daily maid cleaning your room. We just wanted a comfortable bed and bath for three nights, not an apartment.

Was a mostly good stay.
The bed supports kept falling down, the air conditioner kept leaking, the bathroom tissue holder kept coming off, the salt & pepper shakers were empty, key fob to use the elevator & enter the room didn't work, getting someone down to help took to long, alarm clock didn't work, & having to empty your own trash with the instructions isn't ideal. The bed frame is of poor quality, but the bed itself is comfortable. The food drain needs to be sprayed for spiders & cleaned more often.
