Beautiful old hotel
I stayed here after seeing the hotel on a website with a tour of historical architecture. Their comment that the ghost of Alice B. Toklas has been seen there was also a draw. Sit by the fireplace downstairs and read a book surrounded by beautiful woodwork. Our room had a separate sitting room area that could be closed off with its own large screen tv. Helpful when traveling with a night owl tv addict!

Made it right
Good about accommodating our request to check in early however, the room we received had a very soft bed that was noticeably in need of replacing. The hotel contacted us about the issue once we reviewed check in and upgraded us to a junior suite that was excellent.

Luxurious historic hotel
The Sorrento is a lovely historic hotel. The rooms are beautifully updated with lots of thoughtful touches. The service is perfect. The lobby includes a bar/restaurant that is also a guest common area - it's old Moorish-meets-Georgian vibe is both casual and luxurious. There is a wine happy hour there on Friday nights. If you have stayed there once they recognize you and treat you like an old friend. The Fry Museum - a beautiful free art museum that has both a permanent collection and contemporary exhibits is two blocks away. There isn't a lot of street retail close by but the hotel sits conveniently between downtown and Capital Hill, so there is easy access to everything. Also there is usually on-street parking available. Overall just a fabulous place to stay in Seattle and a terrific value.
