All the snorkelling tours from cancun come to puerto Morelos. This just goes to show how wonderful the water and beaches are. The water is calmer here because of the reef break. Better for families and small children than cancun is. Safer waters.

The quiet fishing village is morphing into a vibrant tourist destination with lots of restaurants, hotels, and rentals of all sorts. Near the end of the high season there was no place to park, sidewalks were crowded, and the beach was busy.

The area is a cute little fishing village that is quaint but has grown over the years with more and more tourism and has become more crowded. Mexico and general has also become more expensive shockingly. Prices were on par or more expensive than US.

Puerto Morelos is low key so if that's what you're after then it's perfect. The people are very nice, many great restaurants and also very safe. The Ki Restaurant next to the hotel has the best tacos ever. It's not Cancún but on a good way.

"Honestly there are many bad reviews on this resort BUT I LOVED IT! There are many restaurant options and a buffet. It also has a coffee shop which is open all day! The resort also has some type of activity every night which is pretty nice. The beach is a whammy because it does not give Cancun vibes but other than that the resort has literally everything! My family did not get sick at all but definitely be careful with the slippery floors"
"Amazing resort and amazing staff , second time here and we loved it , only thing they don’t have a lot of seafood , if u a seafood lover this is not ur best option. Almost all the food is always Mexican which we loved and it wasn’t an issue , they have a lot of drinks varieties. The room upgrade that Expedia offered because I’m gold they said no availability and didn’t let me even finished saying it I guess they trained the staff to say that and don’t give out the upgrade. "

"Blown away by the service of all staff, right from arrival. Was able to easily upgrade to Xhale Club upon arrival (for a very reduced rate). Had no real intentions of upgrading, but was just curious to see how much they would ask for to upgrade, and it was very negotiable (the resort was not at capacity throughout our stay so this helped with our upgrade negotiations). WOULD recommend upgrading to xhale club solely off of the service we received by the pool staff at the energy pool. Enrique, Vincente & Edwin specifically provided 5 star service throughout our stay. They made sure to reserve our chairs on the xhale side of the energy pool every morning, first thing so we did not have to worry about getting up early to reserve chairs. Enrique and Vincente were delightful and were truly invested in our experience and were very approachable for anything we may have needed. They even went above and beyond to make sure we had pool floaties each and every day.
Edwin, and his brother who are the cocktail servers on the xhale side of the energy pool were fabulous. They came by every 5-10 minutes to see if we were ready for another drink, snack, pizza or anything we could have thought of. They were super friendly and genuine and we will truly miss them and their service provided. A part of our upgrade was getting an ocean front swim out room, and we were delighted to get continued drink service while in the swim out pool.
All of the food exceeded expectations, especially asian."

"Property was clean and well-kept. House keepers did an amazing job cleaning. I went out after dinner and came back to a clean room with bed remade and towels/washcloths restocked. Only 1 restaurant on the secrets side that was really good for breakfast lunch and dinner. However, you would have to go on the breathless side for other restaurants and entertainment. Secrets is for sure, the relaxing side, but you get the best of both worlds "
