Tight Quarters but Clean and Modern
Amazing amenities including a dyson hair dryer! Loved the powder room. Small pods for the dorms, but other than that great stay. Breakfast was limited and an unfortunate time (7-9:30, which you miss if you want to go to the temples before everyone else), but nice to have included (rare)! About 15 minute walk from shopping center and short metro from other spots. Would book again

Cheap and Reliable
This was my second time staying at a WeBase location, and I enjoyed it nearly as much as the first time. I previously stayed at the Takamatsu location. The location in Kyoto is a little smaller than the Takamatsu location (understandable, given the location), but the service was still top notch. Staff was very friendly, facilities were very clean, and the price was great for being able to stay in central Kyoto. The breakfast was not bad (considering it wasn’t free): it was basically breads, cereal, and rice. I think the main con (though this has been a problem in most hostels I’ve stayed in) is that the bunks get really hot when you close the curtain. Since I want privacy while I’m sleeping, I close the curtain at night, but it gets so hot that I usually end up opening it a little in the middle of the night. I think a great solution would be if curtains that are kind of mesh; they allow for privacy, but also airflow from the halls. But I’d recommend WeBase Kyoto and it’s other branches for a cheap and easily accessible place to stay across Japan!

Great environment, super friendly staff. They even have amazing events such as a meet & greet with two super-famous rock bands. They also have live music events, etc.

Great hostel, clean, modern. Friendly staff who speak many languages. They have events in the common area. Light breakfast which is bread and cornflakes which I supplemented with fresh fruit I bought myself. Beds are a bit narrow and can get stuffy at night. Overall would recommend staying here.

I love that you have independent rooms with bank bed. I also liked that you provide tea, coffee, water all day long. More importantly, I mega loved that we can cook if we wanted, too. I know the space is limited, but a tiny table may help some us who need to work. Yes, not all of us are on vacation only.
