Kyoto Brighton Hotel, Kyoto
The Brighton Kyoto was Fantastic
This was the best hotel of our entire Japan vacation. Though it’s location is slightly inconvenient to the Kyoto public transportation system you can take their shuttle or a taxi to the public transportation. We purchased the breakfast plan with our stay and I highly recommend that you do as well. Without the plan the cost of the meals is very expensive and out of most people’s budget. The food was delicious and really well prepared. There are two choices for breakfast and I recommend if staying more than two nights that you try both, the western one morning and the Japanese the next. The room we had was quite spacious, beds comfortable and clean. The room had abundant amenities including complementary tea. The staff are really quite friendly and welcoming. The hotel is two blocks away from the former imperial palace. If traveling in a group of four taking a taxi is a good way to get your Day started to your first sight seeing location and then taking public transportation for the duration of the day and then take a taxi home at the end of the day was perfect for us.

Five Service at the Cost of Four!
This was a well run hotel. The professionalism of the staff the cleanliness of the hotel and the quality of the food was top notch. The only complaint is that it is sort of inconvenient to public transportation when the weather is bad. The money we saved staying at this hotel we used to take a few taxi rides to several of the sites. I highly recommend purchasing the breakfast with the room if available. There is both a western breakfast buffet and a Japanese breakfast to choose from. They are served in different restaurants so you have to choose one or the other each day. If you like Japanese food the Japanese meal is a feast for the eyes and worth experiencing. If you are traveling with children then the western buffet is maybe better choice. Plenty of well made breakfast items to choose from. All the food items were well prepared and most were fancy chef prepared foods. The room size is quite western in size and the soaking tub is perfect after a day of sightseeing. This was a great value of hotel !!!

Great hotel in Kyoto
Great staff. Very nice hotel. The food at the hotel is expensive and not that great. There are a lot of places to eat nearby that are within walking distance. Overall a really great place to stay.
