Most enjoyable stay

From the minute we got there we were made to feel welcome. The rooms were alittle tired but comfortable. The food was exceptional, great full english breakfast. All staff were friendly and went out of their way to make conversation, especially shy Mark lol and Suraya. We would definitely recommend and will return. Thank you.

The hotel is in a small village conveniently situated close to the NAEC at Stoneleigh Park. It has about 20 rooms and a bar and restaurant. There is also ample parking.

This is the third visit to this hotel the parking and location are good however the rooms are getting very tired and in need of decorating

Warm and friendly

I couldn’t fault the place. We stay in many hotels and there is usually something we can find that could be better, but not here. Nice big clean room VERY friendly staff.. all of them. Food was great and an all round feel of the place was warm and friendly. Will be back
Steve, 3-night trip

Evening meal was excellent. Breakfast - would have preferred fresh chopped fruit.
Denise, 2-night trip

Needs some work!

Stayed overnight at the Old Mill for business due to location. Met with friendly efficient staff at reception and promptly arrived at room which unfortunately was very tired, some investment to refurbish wouldn’t go a miss. The bathroom was not a pleasant experience, also requiring attention including significant mould. The pub/restaurant adjoined was reasonably busy but attentive staff made for a pleasant experience. The location was convenient for me and the large car park with EV charging a plus.
Paul, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

DO NOT STAY HERE

Quite how this hotel gets a rating of 9 (wonderful) is beyond me. To say it needs updating is an understatement. We were horrified looking down the side of the wardrobe in room 20, it was thick with dust, cobwebs, it honestly looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in 20 years (pic 1). Moved to room 14, which was cleaner, but both rooms only had 1 cup, 1 towel, 1 glass for 2 people. Peeling wallpaper, scuffed skirting everywhere, mould on the bathroom ceilings, scalding hot water, the bed bases were rotting with awful mattresses (I have thrown better in a skip). Oh and the Public liability insurance in reception ran out last November. Please, go somewhere else, this is one of the worst I have ever stayed in.

4/10 Fair

Bed was too hard to sleep on, room had a very strong smell of disinfectant. Room was very dated and in need of update furniture. Window would not close. On a plus note ths breakfast was excellent.
Ray, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Staff were polite and helpful. Ample parking in the car park. Room was clean and everything worked as it should.
Paul, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

2 night stay

Room clean, bed firm and comfortable. However room very tatty and bathroom dated. Had problems with heating that was promptly sorted, however a problem with the bathroom sink was never addressed even after being reported to various members of staff. Ate in the restaurant on both nights, food ok but nothing special, service was extremely slow , so slow that we decided against a dessert as we couldn't face the wait. We noticed other guests commenting that they were not happy with the wait
