    Here's what I liked and disliked about my stay at the Centara Grand Hotel: 1. We got a free upgrade to a brilliant ocean view room. Amazing view. Thank you for that! 2. The beach in front of the hotel is beautiful. Unfortunately, the waves were too strong, so not swimmable when we were there. But beautiful beach nonetheless. 3. The hotel is a bit old school and needs a renovation. You can feel the wear and tear everywhere. But it has multiple pools, a 24-hour gym, a club for kids, etc. 4. Breakfast buffet is absolutely horrible for a Centara branded hotel. Small selection and low quality. There should really be a much more generous selection of everything, starting with the fruit, juice, cold cuts and bread selection. But the worst is the coffee. A crime! 5. The location could be good a year from now. It is only 10 minutes away from Patong, but most places are closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.The Laguna and Phuket Town areas are better alternatives. 6. Room service food is terrible. We visited Phuket as the first "sandbox" tourists, so here are a few tips: Don't book anything before you get your Certificate of Entry pre-approval. For that, you need only the health insurance and vaccination certificates. Once you have it, you need to get SHABA certificates from the hotel, pre-pay 3 COVID-19 tests (= $300), flights, etc. There's also a risk of getting quarantined if anyone near you gets infected. Insurance won't cover your quarantine hotel if you test negative.

    Worst hotel ever

    The rooms we booked and paid for were not ready. We were given two other rooms and one of them was fillet with bugs the room was dirty and filthy. The hotel still charged me for the entire 5 days stay even after I checked out and complained to the management in the front desk.

    Disappointing

    I booked this lovely resort to relax in. I found it absolutely obnoxious with small children running everywhere on the property. To top it off, i was located in a room next to screaming childen so it was not even possible to enjoy a bath or relax on my outdoor deck. I called the reception to tell them hiw disappointed i was but upon checkout they dod not seem to care. Perhaps putting families together in one building would be a solution. The propeety was also a confusing maze to navigate through. On a positive note, probablu a good place to come if you have small children under 12.

    Great place to relax

    This was by far the nicest hotel in the area. It's not in Patong Beach, but that is a good thing. It costs 400 baht to travel by taxi to the main part of the city. We picked this resort so that we could just relax on the beach and at the pool. It was perfect for that. The beach is clean and pretty private since it's at the end of the cove. We enjoyed our stay very much.

    Everyone and everything was amazing! The staff was so helpful and accommodating! The food and entertainment were awesome and never disappointed us. The entertainment staff was engaging and fun the entire time! We stayed here for our honeymoon and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and beautiful Thailand retreat. We will definitely be back again!

    We were very satisfied with our 8-night stay at this hotel. It is family friendly. That being said, if you truly want privacy and elegant evening dining I would suggest an alternative hotel. We would definitely stay here again. The location is perfect - far enough away from Patong to eliminate the extra traffic but close enough to all excursions to still qualify for free hotel pick up on most day trips.
