A good, comfortable hotel just around the corner from the station. Our room on the second floor was a decent size with plenty of space for clothes, a very comfortable bed and pillows, plus a well-equipped bathroom. Reception staff were very helpful and pleasant and were there 24 hours: you need to ring the night bell after about eight o'clock at night but they are very quick to answer. They provide toiletries and have luggage storage, which is incredibly useful for when you may be catching a train later in the day than the 11 o'clock check out. There are only two floors but there is no lift, so it might be a challenge with a heavy case to get to a room on the second floor. However reception staff do offer to help with cases.

8/10 Very good

We REALLY appreciated the air conditioning, since we were there during the heatwave. The location was convenient to the train, and there is a delightful cafe staffed by adults with cognitive disabilities nearby (Yellow Submarine). The shower didn’t quite work the first night and the only person on staff was a sweet trainee who tried to fix it, but she wasn’t able to; it would have been helpful to have someone else on staff. We enjoyed our stay overall!

Beautiful. Classic. Timeless. Built in 1935 as a railway hotel, it is still serving that purpose today. We came in by train and used the Royal Oxford Hotel as a staging base as we quickly explored Oxford. I'm the future we need to spend more time! Anyway, the Royal Oxford Hotel was an excellent location as we came in by train and then moved along our travels by train. Thanks ROH!

The building was ok for its age. But in isolation not worth the monies they charge. The team are functional and lack any interpersonal skill required in the hospitality sector. I felt I was processed not welcomed

The staff were friendly and helpful. They changed our rooms to meet our requirements. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The Olive Branch Cafe next door is good breakfast and early evening meals. It is very easy to get into the city centre to see the attractions by bus or on foot. The location is in easy walking distance of the railway station.
