This was one of our favorite areas. Its geared to tourism but there are many authentic eating options and with many options for tours. Suggest booking more park tour that will include a pass. You can stay at the beach for the rest of the day.

Beautiful beaches, lots of dining options, gorgeous jungle, animals around. Need to bring flashlights to walk at night as pavement is uneven and not always sidewalks. Frequent bus service to take you to beach and points along the way.

Gorgeous beaches, great national park, but very small. Manuel Antonio is hard to get around. Due to narrow roads, there can be a lot of traffic jams. Good buses, no sidewalks. Access to the park is limited and controlled by tour guides. Plan early.

Manuel Antonio National Park was a great adventure. We saw plenty of wildlife and played in the waves at the beach. Bring a refillable water bottle, not disposable, or you won't be able to bring it in.

There are many attractions, but the major park is very crowded. I found smaller mangrove boat tours to be a more enjoyable experience.

Manuel Antonio is at the end of the road. It has a very public beach with lounge chairs and umbrellas for rent, horseback ride providers, parasailing, and even vendors providing surfing lessons. The restaurant selection is small but serves food food.

"Honestly one of the best places to stay in the area! Super peaceful, 3 minutes from the beach, restaurant in and around are delicious! Great staff and super chill people. Pura vida amigos! "
"The El Faro Containers Beach hotel isn’t on the beach (5 min walk) but is built into a steep hill -- so steep, they offer free golf cart rides up and down to access. The pools are nice and they provide beach towels. The hotel is built from old shipping containers, so the rooms are long and narrow. But they are nice and quite comfortable. The elevators are small and slow. Each room has an ocean view from its balcony. On check-in, they warn you to close your room door tight because the monkeys have figured out how to work the doorknob and get in to trash your belongings. I saw a monkey on the roof right outside my hotel window on the day I checked out. Quepos is a short drive away, and there are lots of restaurants, services, and things to do in the Manuel Antonio resort area. "
"This was the perfect property for our first visit to Manuel Antonio. The rooms were spacious ane comfortable. We saw monkeys on our balcony! We didn’t have a rooms with a view but I imagine the higher floors must have stunning views. The pool was beautiful and relaxing and had a plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas for shade. The monkeys gave us quite a show in the late afternoon hopping balcony to balcony. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner there as well. We received amazing service from Javier, Edgar, Allan, Jazmin. And the beach was stunning and we loved walking right down the trail. The trail itself was so pretty with all of the flowers and vegetation but fair warning it was rocky and muddy and a very steep climb coming back. Wear tennis or sturdy shoes. It was a nice little hike! We rented chairs and umbrellas and standup paddleboards at the beach for not too much money. And we had delicious drinks and excellent service from the beach stands. There is no reason not to stay at Shana by the Beach! Rides to restaurants and Manuel Antonio National Park were about $10 each way. Enjoy!"
"The view is spectacular . Staff is kind , helpful and go above and beyond . I have stayed at this hotel 4x . The breakfast is so good ! Rooms are clean and very comfortable. Lots of restaurants that are walkable and it’s a quick bus ride to the beach every 15 min . The hotel has shuttle service as well ! 10/10 "
"Beautiful boutique hotel about a 5 min taxi from Manuel Antonio. Lots of monkeys and macaws to be seen around the lovely pool.
Very relaxing spot, fun bar/restaurant and another one by the pool.
Fabulous staff and the rooms are stunning and very spacious "
"We visited 3 regions of Costa Rica and this was our favorite. The food was amazing and well priced. We were overlooking the ocean and the jungle. Wildlife was everywhere. So many things to do nearby. "
"This hotel is truly one of a kind! The location is amazing—set right inside a beautiful park, it feels like you're staying in the middle of nature. The hotel offers both day and night tours, which were unforgettable. We saw so many animals, including colorful macaws and even a sloth! It was such a special experience.
Our room was clean, cozy, and very comfortable. If you book a mountain view or ocean view room, you're in for a treat. Just a small note: if your room isn’t one of those, you may need to walk uphill a bit to get there unless you ask for a golf cart—but it’s not a big issue, and the walk is pleasant.
Everything was wonderful overall, though I did notice one girl working at the café didn’t seem not very happy. It didn’t affect our experience too much, but I hope management can work on improving customer service there.
All in all, this is a peaceful, unique place to stay if you love nature and wildlife. Highly recommended!"
