Nice place overall, but the ranch is roughly a mile away and it has more amenities than the inn. If you’re after a quiet vibe, go with the Inn. If you want something livelier, book the Ranch. Also, if you drive a non-Tesla EV, the Ranch has more Level 2 chargers— the Inn only has two.

Super cute (old fashioned) hotel in the middle of Death Valley. Friendly staff, great food, well maintained. Too bad we stayed only one night during our road trip! Main bed was super comfortable, which was not really the case for the roll-out bed.

Well-maintained but ignored by some of the front desk staff. When we arrived, no one was at the valet stand to help us figure out where to park. The employee who looked like he was supposed to be doing this just looked at us and did not offer any help. We arrived at 5 pm, and our room still was not ready. The WiFi was not working, so we had no cell service. Then the fire alarm went off at 4 AM, and the front desk never acknowledged this or apologized. The best service we received was from the staff at the Inn Dining Room. Kylie (hostess) was the nicest and most helpful employee!

I really like this hotel. It is a good example of a national park inn. While not as grand as those in Yosemite, Yellowstone, it impresses. My complaint is simple. 5 alarms during the night. Four of them by a faulty fire alarm. Kept me up most of the night. Then at 6 am the alarm clock in the room went off. I need my sleep. At $400+ a night, I’d hoped to have a restful night. The last time I’d stayed there, my wife and I had a lovely experience. Since then she’d been accidentally killed. I went to mourn her on her birthday. Instead I was left rattled and restless. The staff apologized. They said the uncontrolled and erratic alarm had happened before and they did not know why. Why should I trust them now? I’ve received no note of apology from the manager. No form of communication nor compensation. So as to draw attention to other potential guests I thought my 1 star review might serve as a Heads Up and Stay Away until they fix this problem. I write this bad review with sadness and disappointment.

We only stayed one night at the Inn but loved it. The room was clean and lovely, the food at the restaurant delicious (I had the Sandia salad with what may have been the best piece of salmon ever), and we enjoyed having our own golf cart to go from the main hotel to our casita. Our favorite part was late night stargazing from the roof deck in the warm desert night- just heavenly.
