Got an upgrade that wasn’t a upgrade and room fireplace didn’t work , maintenance called tryed to fix to no avail. No discount givin staff was rude and abrupt, the overall amenities were good but won’t be staying here again

Not the best experience..
Hotel is in a fantastic position in South Lake Tahoe, but we had some issues. On arrival we were allocated a room and when we entered there was another party in it! So we had to go back to get a room reallocation. No apology at all for it. After checking in we wanted to eat only to find that The Boathouse was closed. So we went to the Tiki Bar and were totally ignored while the bartender was taking with his friends. Also on arrival we have a credit card for incidentals which was accepted, then on day 3 after returning from a day around the lake we were locked out! We went to reception to say our credit card had been rejected, after it was initially accepted. The receptionist then re-entered the same card details which worked again. Why they just couldn’t have called us to ask to come to reception on our return I don’t know. On the good side, the hotel is right on the beach and the rest of Tahoe is awesome.
