Beth Harvey is a wonderful hostess. I have stayed there twice and will always stay there when in Oak Park. The room was beautiful, the home is gorgeous and wonderfully decorated, and breakfast was of a wide variety and something for everyone. And Beth is seriously charming!

Beth was welcoming and helpful. We were in the Garden Room which was a nice size. The bathroom was divided from the room by a folding wooden louvered partition that did not reach the ceiling. There was a large whirlpool tub and shower. It was a little difficult for an older person to get into the tub to take a shower. But once in, the shower was nice. No counter space around the sink. The home is on several different levels. The bedrooms are up a flight of stairs. The kitchen is another level and the eating down another. I mention this because if you have pain in your knees doing stairs, this would be an issue. Beth provided a variety of choices for breakfast - little quiches, hard boiled eggs, nice fruited breads, coffee and juices. It’s near the train into Chicago which is nice for going into the city. But you can hear it in the house. However, we did manage to sleep through the sound of it. We were able to park on the street in front of the house.

The Property was beautiful! When we walked in, the first utterance out of our mouths was "Wow!" Street parking was easy. The room "The Chalet" that we stayed in was spacious with many amenities and was spotless. The bed was very comfortable as well! And being on the third story, we got our stair steps in for our trip! Haha.

We came to run the marathon for the first time in Chicago and we discovered an oasis in oak park. The location was close to the train to get into the city. The neighborhood was both historic and very walkable. A number of very good restaurants were near by. Host was excellent and very responsive to all our questions. I wish we had more time to explore.

We were pleasantly surprised by this property, and wished that our travel itinerary was such that we could have stayed more than just one night. Beth, the innkeeper, is personable and tends to every detail. The property is lovely and peaceful. Great dining options just a walk away, train to the city around the corner, and a lovely neighborhood to walk around and revel in the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. Highly recommended inn. We shall reurn.

This was the first time I've stayed at a Bed and Breakfast, and it was a positive experience. Our room (the Oak Park Suite) was spacious and comfortable, though the pillows on the bed were very flat. Parking was easy, the host/owner was hospitable, and it's an easy walk both to the Metra and to the shops of Oak Park.

Elegance and charm!

Beth is an amazing hostess! The Harvey House is a one-of-a-kind, lovely experience. Such a nice change from the hotel experience. Wonderful common areas that are curated with excellence! If we have a chance to be in that area again we would definitely look for one of the rooms at the Harvey House!

Surprisingly easy street parking for the Chicago area. This property is absolutely beautiful and immaculate. We stayed in the Chalet Suite. Be aware that the Chalet and Oak Park suites are on the third floor and you will have to hike up quite a lot of stairs, but the room is gorgeous if you're up to the hike. The innkeeper, Beth, is very kind and attentive to her guests. She puts a lot of thought into the breakfast as well. We had multigrain croissants imported from France, fresh squeezed orange juice, homemade frittatas, some delicious breads from a local bakery, and more. Great experience!

Harvey House is located in a beautiful Tree lined neighborhood with easy access to transit into Chicago. Our host was very welcoming and every room was filled with original artwork in an impeccably restored building. The breakfast spread was casual and included fresh baked goodie’s. 5 stars!!
