    Great Hotel

    it was really nice. The hotel is clean. The suite was great. Easy to get your car from valet. The Lobby restaurant is one of our favorites, but we wish they kept the brunch on Sundays because it was the best in town. The room cleaning service could be a little slow, but this is because they were too busy (July 2021). They put a bowl of fruit in the room when you come to the hotel, but you would expect better quality fruit in a 5 star hotel.

    We stayed one night at The Peninsula in June 2021 and really enjoyed our stay. Bellman/concierge were always at the front reception area to greet, help, and for safety (though we were back at the hotel by 10 PM). The decor is beautiful, everything felt new, fresh and clean. Check in went smoothly and everyone was friendly. We loved our room, it was smartly automated, but not confusingly so. I also loved how all of the built in storage was labeled in a very helpful, high end way. Blow dryer? In the labeled blow dryer drawer of course. The mini bar was well done with drawers of glassware, coffee/tea maker, tea cups with saucer, all labeled. The bed and pillows were very comfy. The location was fantastic, walkable to the shops we were interested in and right across the street from Rosebuds on Rush, a wonderful Italian restaurant we visited 22 years ago, and again on this visit. My only complaint is the hotel restaurants and bar are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. I'm sure related to the pandemic and the shortage of employees. Also, valet parking is high, but probably in line with the downtown Chicago area. We had a great stay, would stay again and recommend to others.

    Location and beauty

    Such an amazing property. The room was gorgeous and in perfect condition. Everything is updated with the latest electronics. The only negative is the pool and spa area. Very underwhelmed by the amenities of both facilities.

    Excellent hotel in Chicago on Michigan Avenue - very friendly staff, contemporary- elegant rooms, comfortable bed and a large bathroom. There is a coffee/ tea maker in every room and the room lights and temperature can be controlled centrally via an I pad. The on-site restaurant Shanghai Terrace can truly be recommended

    A++ for a reason!

    Highly rated for a reason! The staff is really amazing. Everyone I encountered was tops. The reception desk and concierge attendants when I checked in around 9pm were amazingly attentive. Special props to Will at the front door -- he is a gem!
