A quaint, unique, genuinely boutique hotel. All of 6 rooms on the property including the tower room. Wonderfully helpful staff. The dining room evokes a timeless sense of comfort and elegance. The only minus is absence of an elevator, but that is understandable as it is an historic property that cannot be altered from its original state. It offers proximity to downtown, shopping, restaurants and so on. Nicely prepared and tasty breakfast with both cold and hot dishes.

We absolutely loved our one night stay here! Historical hotel, only 6 suites, each named, we stayed in Paula, very large, small kitchen, sitting area, large bedroom and bath with great shower. The staff were so helpful, friendly and attentive. The breakfast pastries and eggs were so tasty and the freshly squeezed orange juice was the best I can remember having. Two notes, there is no elevator, circular stairs but staff were so helpful taking our bags to the room. The front door isn’t on a street, and cab driver had a little challenge finding the entrance. You actually have to go up a walking alley on cobblestones, about 100 feet and uphill, then ring the bell for someone to come and open the door for you. So, if walking and stairs are a challenge for you, this might not be for you, but for us the history, friendliness, great breakfast, ocean views just across the street from the cruise terminals and so may restaurants close by far outweighed those two minor inconveniences. Highly recommend!

We’ve stayed in many hotels over the years, and this is easily among the top five we’ve ever experienced. The staff were brilliant—friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. The breakfast was absolutely stunning, with an excellent selection and fantastic quality. Our room was perfect: spotless, comfortable, and beautifully presented. A lovely touch was the complimentary minibar, which was replenished every morning. I honestly can’t praise the hotel enough. Lisbon itself is a beautiful city with plenty to see and explore. Unfortunately, we found it to be quite dirty in places, and there were a number of unsavoury characters around, which detracted from the overall experience. Would I return? To Lisbon, probably not. To this hotel? Absolutely. If this hotel were in a different location, I’d return every single time without hesitation.
