It can be very expensive but there's loads of good stuff to do for free or relatively cheaply (copenhill, round tower, little mermaid statue, return train journey to Malmo). Tívoli gardens was the only thing I would describe as poor value for money.

Copenhagen is a lovely city, even in January! There are many great eateries. Nice shopping- I'm into barefoot shoes and they had lots of shops, unlike in England. If you like liquorice I recommend visiting the Lakrids by Búlow factory!

The METRO transit system is very good so take advantage of it. Download the DSB app to purchase tickets on the fly. You can board the subways on the honor system but resist the temptation to fare evade. They do check frequently.
