What You Need to Know Before You Go

Sheffield is one of Northern England’s old industrial cities. Tucked between the hills of South Yorkshire, this university city offers lively pubs, theaters, and shopping malls. Red-brick terraced streets line the hills and call back to Sheffield’s industrial past, which is on display at the Kelham Island Museum.

Sheffield has several family-friendly attractions, such as the huge greenhouse of the Winter Garden, housing over 2,000 plant species, and the Tropical Butterfly House. You can also take a short journey east to the Peak District National Park for outdoor adventures, or visit Chatsworth House: one of Britain’s great country houses.
