What to do in Miami Beach

Miami Beach Hotels

With long sandy beaches and clear blue seas, Miami Beach is a tropical paradise, complete with palm trees and balmy weather all year round. On a strip of land, parallel to the city of Miami, the area feels like an island, complete with luxurious resorts and restaurants overlooking the sea. At night, the area hosts some of the most exclusive nightclubs in the world, becoming a playground for the rich and famous.

Things to see

Wander down Ocean Drive during the day and you’ll see beautiful people enjoying the white sandy beach, with rollerbladers and joggers sharing the sidewalk. Take a seat outside one of the upmarket pavement cafes or restaurants, and you can enjoy watching the shady palms and the calm blue ocean from your vantage point. At night, the Art Deco buildings are lit by neon, and the area becomes a buzzing social hive. The North Miami area is home to Surfside Beach, a wide, white-sanded beach which is a quieter alternative to the more central beaches. The Port of Miami is known as the cruise capital of the world, and you’ll see many of the giant cruise ships departing for voyages around the Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexico, and beyond, giving passengers on board a breathtaking view of the skyline as the ship pulls away. Lincoln Road Mall is a palm tree lined, pedestrianized street full of upscale stores, boutiques, art galleries, and sidewalk cafes, giving it a laidback vibe both day and night. If you need some time for quiet contemplation, Miami Beach Botanical Garden is an urban greenspace that’s free to enjoy. Wander around enjoying the fragrance of exotic flowers, take a yoga class in beautiful surroundings, or simply sit under a tree and take in the abundant horticulture of the area.
