Big-city energy in green Bloomsbury

The Royal National Hotel runs on the kind of busy, communal momentum that comes with being the UK’s largest hotel, with a bold Brutalist exterior that’s easy to spot in Bloomsbury. When it’s time to unwind, there’s a traditional on-site pub that keeps the atmosphere lively.

This was a huge hotel in London. It is very conveniently located close to Russell Station and the British Museum. Our room was cute and clean. Staff was very helpful and spoke 6 different languages. Breakfast services offered a good variety of food.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Royal National Hotel. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was excellent. It was easy to get around London and visit many of the city's attractions. We would gladly stay here again.

Clean room, lovely breakfast however the heat and lack of fans/air con was an issue in the heatwave. Struggled to sleep. Beds were comfortable though. Would stay here again and good value for money.

The rooms could have been deep cleaned (bit of dust), but they were ok. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. They even got a chair when mum (she has a still walking stick)was waiting 5mins for a taxi. Nice big shower.

6/10 Good

Checking in took quite some time - while it was busy the lines also moved slowly - probably needed more desks open particularly around 2pm. Breakfast provides decent food but very busy and there were queues both mornings to get a table, staff do a good job turning the table over. Room was fine but basic - no bottled water was a disappointment.

The staff stood out. They were so helpful and friendly. Our room was clean the beverages were stocked up for our two nights stay. The beds were very comfortable. The only negative aspect was the long line of people waiting to store their bags. gave up and stored them elsewhere at a cost. However the hotel is huge and really busy so this is not a criticism of the hotel. We would definitely recommend staying there. We are going to go back.

Staff is fantastic here. Omar at front desk was great EVERYTIME I saw him he was helpful or said hello. 2000 people must come through here a week so I was impressed. It’s an olde hotel but does the job and I was impressed by the machine that handles it from the front desk to the cleaning staff. So are are outgoing and helpful and senate quite and doing there job and I appreciate it all

The room itself was clean and seemed well enough maintained. It was a spacious room as well. My only complaint was that it was quite stuffy and without air conditioning it got very warm at night. The location was very convenient and the price for the night was reasonable.

For the price it beats expectations. Single traveler. Small room. Basic. No AC. But all the basics. Very clean. Plenty of hot water. Secure. Friendly staff. Free baggage storage before and after.

6/10 Good

The best characteristic of this hotel is its location: 10-minute walk from Euston rail station, 5-minute walk to Russell Square tube station, 5-minute walk to the British Museum. The building and rooms are dated. The rooms are not air-conditioned. Their business model caters to large tour bus groups, which tend to clog up the lobby and entrance ways. There is a decent coffee shop on site, and the pub serves better-than-average food, although the service is below average.
