Upon arrival, the staff provided tea and mochi while they checked us in. The room itself was spacious and beautiful. Having a private onsen on the balcony was a huge plus, and one of the main reasons we booked the room. The only shower is also outside on the balcony, which wasn't super comfortable. At night the room got uncomfortably warm, not sure if it was because of the onsen but the a/c couldn't regulate the temp well.

Beautiful suite in Hakodate
Beautiful two story suite, but the best part was the cuisine. The private Onsen was very nice as well. The staff were friendly, helpful and thoroughly professional.

Our 3-night stay at Bourou Noguchi was superb. The western breakfast was one of our favorite ryokan breakfasts, and the dinner, bath, and room all exceeded expectations. Great all around, we'll certainly be back.

We had a great welcome greeting. They made us feel welcomed and provided us a clean room. The food was substantial and delicious. They gave us an option for western food which was a nice option after eating a lot of seafood throughout our trip. They were very accommodating and the service was great. We would recommend this hotel to others.

The room was above all I could have imagined, with its own entryway and complete living room. I had a room without an onsen. The public onsen was okay, but not really spectacular. If you like a city view, it's good. From the women's onsen, the airport runway is visible and the flight take off times listed, so if you'd like to see planes take off, it's nice.
My regret is not reserving a dinner or breakfast. Beware, you can't easily reserve last minute, so do it when you make your initial reservation or call them. I think they do have some pretty spectacular meal options in a lovely environment, but you must have a reservation in advance to experience it.

We paid usd $600 (no meals, no breakfast) for 1 night in October. Got a suite.
Avoid.
Rude staffs. One of the worst front desk ever in Japan.
Room looks dated.
Hot air bath. The bathtub is full of sulphur stains. The tap is surrounded with sulphur deposits which looks like it has not been properly cleaned for years.
The windows in hot air bath room cannot be opened. But do not have blinds or curtains. The residents in the next building can easily see us naked.
The location is not that great. No view. Our hot air bath room faces another residential building.
There is no way customer can consider this to be 4.5 stars.

函館空港の離発着が､女湯と最上階ラウンジから見られます。特に､露天風呂からは飛行機の生の音や大きさを感じることができます。行く方向によっては､すぐに曲がってしまうこともありますが！好きな人にとっては、素晴らしいと思います。
部屋にコーヒー豆が置いてあって､自分で入れらようになっています｡日頃､コーヒーを飲みませんが､とても良い匂いで久しぶりに飲みました。ベッドが､とても寝やすいので､爆睡しました｡大浴場からの景色も良く､大きな湯船でゆったりできました。

函館駅の近くに滞在していましたが，レンタカー返却に帰路のフライトが朝8時だった為は，前日に返さないといけなかったので一泊でしたが利用させていただきました、急で短い滞在でしたが良くしていただいて過ごしやすかったです。
