When I arrived, they had given me a room and then changed it to another. This room was on the third floor, it smelled like smoke, I suspect that there was mold under the wallpapers. There were cigarette butts in the shower. There was gravy/oil from food on the office desk and chair. There was a bottle cap on the floor and I was even visited by a roach. The cleaning staff was okay, they would wipe the floors and empty the bins and restock my water supply.

The most unexpected & appreciated Customer Service
One particular staff member was one of the sweetest and most helpful people I have ever met. On one occasion I needed to find some ingredients for a pasta dish I wanted to cook for a friend and she actually took me to the local supermarket and helped with translation, the shopping etc. Then when I happened to have a bout of gastro and did not appear for a few days contacted me to see what was wrong, took time off to go and get me some medicine and she even bought me some food out of her own money and expected nothing in return.

Very convenient, next to train station
Overall, the room is clean and comfortable. Staff do not speak good English, but you get by. Very near to the train station. From here, you can get to anywhere, including the airport. Be aware that the trains stop at the Domestic Airport. You need to walk 500m to the International airport. The bus service is not reliable. The room allocated to us was very small, but very clean.

Oasis in Chongqing, great value
Loved the room, the design, cleanliness and comfort were miles a head of other Chongqing hotels, not to mention great value for money. The only issue would be the breakfast. Toast and mayo was the only western option on the buffet, and the coffee didnt even look like coffee.
