Excellent cottage hotel with lovely comfortable good size room with views of the countryside for a recent stay for work and has ample parking. There’s a lovely breakfast menu but I wasn’t able to try it as had to get to work in the morning. I’ll definitely recommend this hotel which is just 7 minutes drive from Dorchester town. Owner was lovely and makes you feel at home. Thanks

Exceptional hotel just outside Dorchester

Mine was a solo stay for one Saturday night. It’s a lovely clean and comfortable room in a family run country hotel with friendly and generous hosts. I hadn’t booked a table in the restaurant and it was full to capacity but the chef made a delicious light meal for me which I ate in the lounge. Everything about my stay was exceptional.

The staff here care about you and treat you like family (I got a flat tire in their parking lot at night and they helped me call my rental car agency and helped me through the process all the way). Last minute booking for a race that I had planned. Arrived just before 10pm and left around 7am the next morning. The room was well presented and had everything you needed, good quality coffee, comfy pillows and some lovely welcome brownies. Would certainly go back when I visit Dorset again.

Ten out of ten all round!

My wife and I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Yalbury Cottage. Our only disappointment was that their restaurant was closed on Tuesday night but the Wise Man Inn in the next village proved an able substitute. The cottage is really in the heart of Dorset countryside and it was a real surprise to look out of our bedroom window and see Llamas grazing in the field. We did have dinner on Wednesday night and it did not disappoint starting with gorgeous canapés through to a fantastic dessert. Ten out of ten all round!
