Yoga sessions between rice paddies remind you this isn't just any beach town. Finding your perfect spot is easy with options from $3 warung meals to farm-to-table dining. Scooter rentals are the transport of choice, though the core area works for walking despite uneven paths. Accommodations range from surf hostels to luxury villas, many featuring pools and co-working spaces.

Pererenan blends quiet coastal charm with laid-back beach vibes just beyond the buzz of central Canggu. Surfers paddle out at dawn to catch waves at the striking black sand beaches, while wellness fans find their bliss in bamboo-built yoga studios with ocean views. Padonan lets you escape the tourist crowds while still enjoying Bali's magic. This northern Canggu neighborhood surrounds you with emerald rice terraces, palm groves, and authentic village life. Local warungs serve up delicious Indonesian dishes at budget prices, and you can watch farmers tend their fields or catch glimpses of traditional ceremonies. Simple guesthouses and family-run homestays offer affordable places to rest your head after exploring the area. You'll need to rent a motorbike to reach Canggu's beaches about 10-15 minutes away. Babakan offers a slice of authentic Bali just minutes from Canggu's famous surf spots. Traditional village life unfolds along narrow lanes lined with tropical greenery and working rice paddies. You'll find basic homestays and simple warungs serving delicious Indonesian fare at prices that won't break the bank. The peaceful evenings are punctuated only by temple bells and gentle breezes. Getting around requires wheels – rent a scooter to reach Canggu's beaches just 10-15 minutes away. Budget travelers appreciate accommodations that cost about half what you'd pay at beachfront properties. While shopping options are limited to small convenience stores, the genuine village atmosphere and friendly locals more than make up for it.

Ride the legendary waves at Echo Beach, where surfers of all levels catch breaks against a backdrop of volcanic sand. Digital nomads tap away at laptops in bamboo-built cafes serving acai bowls and flat whites with equal reverence. Rice paddies still stubbornly persist between yoga studios and beach clubs where sunset sessions blend into night with international DJs. Batu Bolong Beach offers gentler surf for beginners before rewarding efforts with beachfront tacos. The once-sleepy village now pulses with an international crowd seeking the perfect balance of wellness and nightlife. Berawa Beach's black sand provides dramatic contrast to colorful beach umbrellas, while nearby Tanah Lot temple sits majestically offshore, proving that sacred and social can coexist beautifully.

"Excellent hotel, would highly recommend and definitely will come back"

"I booked a deluxe suite with a pool-view balcony and breakfast and regrettably had a very poor stay at Citadines Berawa. My room was changed five times due to noise and location issues. The first was above the pool beside escalators: constant partying, smoking and loud guests, with no soundproofing. Another faced active construction with a bulldozer operating roughly 9-5. The others faced a beach club that blasted music until 1am and sent strobe lights through the windows. Noise insulation is effectively non-existent. Cleanliness and hygiene were alarming. There is a persistent sewage/drainage smell in parts of the building. My room did not appear properly cleaned; floors weren’t mopped to a visible standard and white towels were grey and brittle. I saw staff cough into gloves and then handle food, and breakfast fruit was sometimes left exposed with flies. Most shockingly, I found a dead bird floating in the pool, a serious sanitation issue. Facilities were unreliable: several in-room appliances didn’t work, irons are scarce or broken and can damage clothes, and the complimentary laundry has no instructions or detergent available. The in-room bottled/filter water made me ill and I needed pharmacy medication. Service quality is inconsistent; the team is young and undertrained, though one staff member with better English was genuinely helpful. Overall, the property feels closer to a noisy, low-budget hostel than a proper hotel, poor cleanliness, hygiene lapses"

"We paid for a pool room, well worth the money with direct entry to the pool and really convenient (no lugging towels and other kit backwards & forwards); recommended. Staff are very helpful, friendly, and polite, but I think they are still in training and a little repetitive and extremely slow with orders. Food was excellent, and rooms are well-appointed and extremely comfortable. Would definitely go back as we had a great time here."

"Had a wonderful stay at Koa D Surfer Hotel! It was in a great location near everything in Canggu area and the hotel was very nice with breakfast included."

"Good walking distance from echo beach. The restaurant has excellent Balinese food options to try. Staff was helpful. We had a great time."

"Definitely worth a visit , the staff were so friendly and the location was very central"

"This hotel is amazing. The staff cannot do enough for you and treat you like royalty. The food drinks and atmosphere all amazing. Thankyou for a pleasurable stay"

"Cannot fault a single thing. Hotel is great and walking distance to all the Canggu hotspots (close enough for parties but quiet enough for sleep) super clean, great pool etc. Staff, as usual are incredible, down to housekeeping who went above and beyond for our stay (special mention to Guna and Darma) Highly recommend"

"The staff here are amazing! I will be back."
