Time for improvement
The hotel presents itself as a high-category property, and guests naturally have certain expectations. Unfortunately, these were not met at all.
Starting with the positives: the hotel does have its own charm. It’s lovely that there are fireplaces in several areas, and the breakfast restaurant was excellent—the food was delicious, varied, and the views were stunning. The location is also a strong point, as the hotel sits directly on the beach.
Now the negatives: the hotel does not live up to its claimed category because it clearly needs renovation. In my room, the toilet seat was absolutely broken, hooks in the bathroom were missing, the mattress was very uncomfortable, and the carpets in the common areas were old and dirty and should be replaced.. The staff were friendly and pleasant, but the spa was the biggest disappointment. It is nowhere near the standard of a high-end spa. There are plaster ceilings in the wet areas, and no temperature indicators or measuring devices in either the sauna or the Turkish bath. No rinsing hoses in the turkish bath. Overall, the spa was a complete shock. In Sweden, alcohol is available for purchase in spas, and perhaps that is why many people enjoy this hotel. But in reality, it can only appeal to those who have never visited a proper spa.
Still, I give it three stars because of the excellent breakfast, the atmospheric restaurant, and the efforts of the staff.
