8/10 Very good

Despite arrogant front desk staff in daytime and a lot of fuss around a promised later check-out - which ended in rude behaviour from frontdesk and ended in me being thrown out before the agreed time, the hotel is very good and maintains high standard.

We had a lovely stay here. All the staff working here were brilliant. The front desk reception were incredibly friendly and helpful with all our queries, and all the people who helped us at breakfast were friendly and prompt with any requests we had. The room itself was very comfortable, but upgrading to the Executive room wasn't worth the extra money over the Double room, unless you need room for an extra bed or to get dressed. The hotel is very well located, a short walk from loads of great restaurants, bars, and a lovely park across the road. Another niggle was the £12 charge for car parking, for this price, parking should be included. Overall, I would stay here again.

8/10 Very good

Lovely period hotel (the original Putin wallpaper in the stairwell is amazing) Breakfast excellent, good choice of everything on the buffet table with food being replenished regularly Bathroom needs improvement, it’s fine for an overnight stay but insufficient pegs, storage if you’re staying for longer. The same applies to the bedroom, great for one night but again if you’re staying longer the dressing table is totally taken up with coffee/tea paraphernalia and no drawer for personal bits and pieces. Bedside tables were just that - a table. However bed comfortable and an extra sheet was thoughtfully left out which was very welcome with the current heat spell

In a really nice part of town. Breakfast was lovely, various selections and well maintained. The name is very fitting for the property, an older Queen like aesthetic. Staff was always pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and cozy.

6/10 Good

Beautifully clean, large room, however, we stayed during the bank holiday heatwave and the air con wasn't working. A portable air con unit had been placed in the room but wasn’t enough for such a large space. Unable to open windows, so had a sleepless night due to the unbearable heat. Huge room, great shower and very comfortable bed. We also stayed for breakfast which was amazing! Beautiful hotel just a shame that we chose a boiling hot weekend to stay.

8/10 Very good

The location is great and it has a good car park that costs £17 per day. It is close to the bus stop on the Promenade and makes it easy to visit Gloucester, Cirencester and other places. We enjoyed the breakfasts but Sunday lunch was disappointing. The staff were good.
