1890 Hotel is good in Brighton
I knew the hotel, then called Metropolitan, 25 years ago. It was one of the best hotels in Brighton. Nowadays, it is still one of the best hotels in Brighton. We were pleased at its service. The breakfast is unbelievable good and rich. If asked anything be improved, the hotel condition needs remodeled as it has been aged(1890). the central heating in one of our rooms was not working.

Very nice gym. Good size room with very comfortable bed. Great service. Special compliments to the check-in and check-out staff. Great breakfast in 1890 with excellent omlettes.

A beautiful dump, great location, still a dump
I've known this hotel for several decades, when the property was in prime condition are long gone, and probably go back to prewar times, to before the invasion of Normandy and D Day. Staff are real nice and make an effort to help and serve, the property is overworked and just not kept to a good standard, and there is no competition

Good 6.0
I love the hotel but it looked a bit worn from what I remember. My room was quite small and stuffy and I had to figure out how to keep the window open for ventilation. The room was comfortable enough other than that. The service at the restaurants was good, breakfast very nice, dinner in the bar was also quite good. My compliments to Adam who was an excellent waiter. He had a lot of people to manage and he handled it superbly. He was very friendly.

Classic Hilton Nightmare
Terrible experience, just like all the hiltons in the United States. The room wasn't quite ready yet when we arrived so we were told to leave the bags at the concierge desk. Hilton's employee at the concierge desk told us to go back to the check in desk and ask them to call concierge because "she is not concierge". WHAT? Went back to the front desk and were told to go to the concierge... Got to our room, and it was dirty. Stains everywhere, on the floor, on the couch coffee spilled on the floor around the little coffee table, room was dark and stuffy. Went back to check in desk and was offered another room. The next room was cleaner, but also super stuffy. The widow's don't open more than 2 inches, and there is no AC in the room. Even though it was freezing cold and windy outside, we thought e were going to cook in the room. Couldn't sleep at all the whole night it was so hot. There was a little fan in the room, but that didn't help much at all. Disaster of the hotel. Oh, also- somebody used the bathroom before we arrived :/ For $400 a night, this was a joke.
