We just spent a week at the Stafford. We loved the location and the fact that it was on a dead end street so it was very quiet. The service was excellent, and the British gentlemen who are the concierges were totally helpful in setting up reservations. We had a great experience. Our only issue was that we could not really enjoy the American Bar because the smoke from the patio outside comes into the bar. Everything else was great. A very traditional British place.

The Stafford is a marvelous hotel -- you feel as though you are in fine home that just happens to be set up for lots of company. The staff are marvelous -- first, highly competent, which is crucial, but on top of that genuinely welcoming and courteous without overdoing it. The American Bar was a real treat especially late-night after theater -- try the Amphora Negroni: a unique treatment of a classic.
