Stayed at Howard Johnson for a night on a road trip. The room was terrible. It was dingy, uncomfortable, and gross. The bed was hard, the walls were thin, the room smelled weird. Wouldn’t stay again!
I will say staff was nice and friendly though!

Expedia booked me into a hotel that is. Closed since March. My family was standing infront of closed doors. The hotel that was mentioned by Expedia as alternative did not know about a booking upon arrival. Emails from me, 3 of them, prior to arrival to Expedia have not been answered. Shame on Expedia for this non service. Leaving a family all alone in flagstaff at night looking for 2 rooms with 4 beds. Unbelievable

Comfortable place to stay
The room clean, comfy beds, quiet, restaurant next to hotel was convenient. The only thing that needed adjustment was the shower. It was leaking even though it was off. The bathroom floor got all wet from the leaking and I slipped and nearly fell. I told the front desk about it, but it was not fixed. Other than that, we were comfortable.

Kind of a run down motel, thought the Howard Johnson was a little better but similar to a Motel 6 etc. You can tell the owners don’t fix anything and are letting the place go. The air unit was super noisy. Room trim and things falling apart. Ok for a few night stay and bigger rooms which were nice.

I wasn't expecting the best from this hotel; however, I did not expect to have a room with a strong smell of cigarrete smoke that made my throat feel uncomfortable.

Not worth the cheap rates....
I typically know what to expect when staying at a cheaper motel. I knew this wasn't going to be a 5-star experience going in. However, what I didn't expect was a pair of dirty underwear under the bed, food crumbs on top of the bed, what appeared to be nail clippings on the floor, spray stains on the wall (soda maybe?), and a stained shower floor. It was apparent no one had cleaned the room prior to us checking in. I still haven't heard a thing from the manager regarding my experience, so I'm assuming they just don't care. In addition, the site doesn't seem very safe with dim orange lights barely lighting the exterior. There were also signs of meth-use in the area with many scraps of burnt tin foil scattered around the parking lot. I definitely do not recommend staying at this motel.

Really there was nothing we liked. The front desk was not accommodating, nice, engaging, absolutely no customer service attributes. The person seemed bothered to do work. The rooms were not kept up in paint, stains on the wall, door had a whole in it, sheets had stains, plug sockets on the wall looked like they were pushing further into the wall and a plug would not even stay in them. Very bad for safety. Shower head had scum all over it. We had to stay, we had broken down the day before, and did not have the money to spend on a better rated hotel or motel, plus our son is handicap from cancer and he was exhausted.

Door to our room was open and not locked upon arrival. Parking lot was dimly lit and people sitting in vehicles. Bed wasn't made and look like it had been used. Outside hotel smelled like drugs. Door looked like it had been kicked in before. Didn't feel safe with my children.

Train tracks very close it the property. Train comes all night long.
The thermostat doesn’t work well. It’s not temperature control. I had to get up every two hours all night long to adjust it.
The hotel overall was excellent, but terms or noisy environment and terrible thermostat. I will not give it high recommendation.

Upon check in, I found the chain door lock to be broken and the back window/bathroom to be unable to close/lock. I had to put a hanger in the bathroom window in order to lock it. There was noise all night outside and people yelling from upstairs. I was awaken by the sound of running water at 6am. I found water coming out a side vent, the light fixture and the wall in the bathroom. I called the front desk and told them water was pouring out of the ceiling in the bathroom. They offered me to change room; I declined saying I was going to check out. The person on the phone said ok, just notify the front desk clerk coming on duty (no concern about the pouring water from the ceiling). As I gathered my belongings, I looked under the bed to make sure I had everything and saw an old coca-cola can and french fries. I went to the front desk and the clerk took my keycards and asked if the water had stopped. I said no, it is still running. As I stayed in parking lot getting vehicle packed, there seemed to be no urgency on the running water through the ceiling. I have stayed at many Howard Johnson's and usual it is a positive visit. This was not. I have taken pictures of the damage(s) if you are interested in how poorly I was served.

I don't think the rooms were being cleaned well - there were socks from previous stay under the bed.

I just liked the fact that I found a place to stay at last minute. Unfortunately, the building needs repairs & to be more clean. My room lacked towels and the couple we had were extremely dirty! They just folded the dirty ones, probably the sheets weren’t changed either. The bathroom had no ventilation so there was a lot of humidity. When we showered, the floor would always get soaked. There was no tub, just a walk in shower and the curtain didn’t prevent the floor to be wet. Super thin walls. We herd everything! Even the most private sounds! For the price we paid it was not comfortable.

Really bad customer service extremely rude and disrespectful front desk clerk. Someone else was able to check in with my information. Never offered another room since they were sold out. Never got an I’m sorry, a different option nor solution. And indeed I was threatened that they were going to call the cops on me. Since all I requested was to get my information as well as my card from the reservation since I was not going to pay for someone else to stay in a room I booked for myself and my family. I ended up having to drive back home since there was no available rooms.

Nope, uh-uh, never again!
This hotel is absolutely horrible. I thought since it was affiliated and described as a part of the Wyndham chain of motels it would be a decent hotel. I couldn’t have been more wrong. First, the hotel smelled like someone has been smoking in it, it was a non smoking room. The carpet was torn up, the bathroom door had a hole in it, like someone punched it. The bathroom was filthy, dirty walls. There was mold in the bathroom light fixtures. The toiled was clogged when we got there. The headboard fell off the wall. It is right by the train tracks, where a train passes every hour all day and night. Lastly, we got locked in our room, the door handle was broken and we could not get out. We called the front desk, who came over 5 minutes later to let us out. Completely unsafe to be locked in your room, in case of a fire or emergency exit. I have The place was supposed to be clean in accordance with COVID guidelines, which I don’t believe happened l, as there was trash under one of the beds and a dime on the floor of the bathroom. If it had been cleaned correctly the dime would have been swept up by housekeeping and the trash would not have been there. The Wyndham name should not be affiliated with this hotel. Makes Wyndham look bad.

Bed was not on frame. Underneath bed was full of food. Heater didn't work so they brought a space heater. Worked for 10 minutes and stopped. Bathroom lighting was almost non-existent. They said that's as bright as it would go. I didn't dare to step into the shower. Washed off with a wash cloth. In the middle of the night we started hearing noises, it was a rat. I trapped it to show management. They gave me a credit of $15 for the inconveniences. Never again! Disgusting beyond words.

You pay for what you get. We needed a cheap place in between the Grand Canyon and Sedona. The front desk people were very helpful and kind. The actual room was pretty clean and vacuumed. Felt pretty safe. You will hear the freight train going by every 5 mins which isn't a big deal to me but is to others. A lot of restaurants and stores nearby. No free breakfast in the morning. Hairdryer did not work. But overall, nice stay for reasonable price.

Definitely do not recommend this property. We were given a room behind the hotel. The area outside is so trashy, the inside of the hotel is dirty. We could hear the kid upstairs running for over ten minutes and everything the people above us talking to. Very unpleasant experience. Not worth the price you pay, and definitely worse than a forty dollar motel.
