Warm and Cozy Vortex in Sedona
We had a wonderful week-long reunion with friends at L'Auberge in Sedona. The setting was idyllic, right along Oak Creek, and the service was outstanding. The only issue we had was a broken heater in our Lodge room. Given that we were visiting in February, the weather was a bit too cold to have an unheated room. The staff were excellent, however, and upgraded us to a cottage and comped us for breakfast. They arranged for all transfer and had us in a warm and spacious cottage in no time. Great job!

Nice place. Some underwhelming aspects...
My sister and I stayed here for a little getaway, and I must say the people were incredibly nice and the surroundings are serene and lovely. For a spot this expensive, I was really surprised at how terrible the pool was --- almost an afterthought. It's small, no view, at all...may as well be at a motel, not a 4.5/5 star resort. One more thing that was surprising to me is that they were not very helpful in terms of the area, or about general Sedona/tourist information at all. For instance, when we left one morning for the Grand Canyon, there are no maps or area things at the valet stand which seems like an obvious thing to have. Furthermore, when I would ask the front desk questions they were equally clueless about Sedona --- as if they're not from there. I understand this is a concierge's job --- but I would also expect some knowledge from the staff. I guess the point is, the people were lovely and very warm --- but the resort it self was a little expensive for the amenities, and the people, while good at serving, seemed a little unaware/pretty clueless about where we were.
