Great location. Blissfully quiet even though only a few metres away from Whitehall. Marvellous staff. Good room although the sink was chipped and the plug didn’t work properly. Lovely bar with cocktails. Breakfast was nice but overpriced. One issue my wife always complains about is the lack of a plug socket close to a mirror to plug in a hair dryer.

A one night stay for a theatre trip. Excellent location just off Whitehall and close to St James Park. The room was to a very high standard and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast overpriced and nothing special.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 days last week, and would absolutely stay at this hotel again. The hospitality of the staff was incredible, which is notable, because we stayed in various hotels while we were in the country, visiting from Canada, and only one other hotel had the level of service and helpfulness that this hotel offered. Staff were friendly, helpful with luggage, and offered many suggestions on reservations and places to enjoy for food and drink. Would stay again.

The history of this building alone makes it worth the stay, but then you add the incredible staff, the cleanliness, the cozy beds and linens, the central location and delicious food and drinks, and they have knocked it out of the park! Great location for theatre trips

We had a 1 night stay as we were going to the theatre. Everything was good. Our one disappointment was the shower which we never managed to get hot!!!

It was great staying there but I don’t think it’s worth the price. And due to the technology breakdown form MS they did not come to the airport to pick us up even when we had made a reservation. But the breakfast was great and the service was amazing.

Noisy aircon disturbs sleep.

The Great Scotland Yard is a wonderful building in a great location. The decor is good, the staff polite and our room was large, clean and comfortable. However, if you are a light sleeper then I would recommend that you avoid this hotel. The ventilation system in our room hummed and rattled whilst switched on and, even when switched off, there was an almost continuous background hum. We raised this with reception after the first night and, after they discussed with engineering, we were told that it was normal and like that in all of the rooms. The recording I took of the noise is most definitely not normal nor is being kept awake by background noise. Add to this a distinctly average breakfast experience (our booking included breakfast but that piece of information was not communicated between hotels.com and the property) and we would not choose to stay here again.
