Learn more about Johnson City
Wander through the boyhood home of President Lyndon B. Johnson, where history feels as tangible as the Texas heat. The LBJ Ranch offers a remarkably personal glimpse into presidential life, with his office preserved exactly as he left it. At the Exotic Resort Zoo, feed giraffes from your palm while they regard you with improbable eyelashes. The surrounding Hill Country vineyards provide tastings that locals insist rival California's, though they'll never admit this to Californians. After wine tasting at Texas Hills Vineyards, cool off with a dip in the Pedernales River where limestone bottoms create pools perfect for afternoon soaking. Western Art & Artifacts showcases regional creativity that goes well beyond the expected cowboy motifs.

Fredericksburg Inn & Suites
"Excellent all the way around"
Albert Hotel
"A jewel in the heart of Fredericksburg Texas and the Texas Wine Country. The restaurant was wonderful, fresh ingredients and hearty dishes. The spa was first class and the pool designed (like a Texas pond) sunken 20 feet below the ground floor with walls of Texas limestone, unique and private. Try the 1800s built old pharmacy for fresh pasties a great coffee, local musicians adding to the vibe. Truth. We never left, no need. Cheers to the old German compound! 5 stars"
Inn On Barons Creek
"Great spot in Fredericksburg. The large parking area has very poor lighting and can be difficult for older folks to navigate. It’s also sitting on a hill, they could use a well lit staircase to get up and down instead of walking in the middle of the driveway at night. Other than that, nice spot."
Peach Tree Inn & Suites
"I have to say this was probably one of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed. It was cute, clean, convenient, and cozy. Family owned according to the grandson we spoke with. We were in room 7. The bed was comfy, and it was nice to have a couch to sit on to watch tv. One thing that they may want to consider is to put the tv’s on an arm to rotate to be able to see it from the bed for those of us that go to bed with it on. The shower was amazing! No water saving shower head! You didn’t want to get out of the shower! There is also covered parking right next to the room! That was awesome! The air conditioning was working fine. The breakfast isn’t the best, but I’m not a breakfast person so that didn’t bother me. I will definitely stay here again if I ever go back to the area."
Best Western Johnson City Inn
"Super clean, nice and helpful front desk and breakfast was well appointed. The property was quiet even on a weekend night. This stay was a delight for a good price."
Walden Retreats
"We loved our stay at Walden Retreats. Becky checked us in and was so welcoming and informative of our tent and things to do while we were there. I was worried that the tent would be warm in the first of August, but we kept the shades down during the day and the fans on. My husband and I actually woke up cold in the morning, so we were just fine. I couldn't believe how clean the tent itself was. They had special touches like robes, luxury bath towels, and fantastic smelling shampoo and conditioner. We enjoyed making smores by the fire and sleeping in the next morning. My husband told me before we left that he wants to come when it gets a little colder to be there during a different season."
Hill Country Guest Houses
"We enjoyed our stay in the Miranda house. Fun decor, comfortable bed, nice amenities and wonderful hosts. We would absolutely recommend staying here."
