The only reason I rated the Residence Inn on 6th Avenue in New York as “okay” was because of its excellent location. It is very close to everything I was looking for, including Times Square, restaurants, and shopping. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is in serious need of improvement. The rooms are outdated and did not appear to be properly maintained. The bathrooms were not clean, the elevators were overcrowded and difficult to access, and I was very concerned to see roaches in the laundry room. I have stayed at many Residence Inn properties over the years, and this is by far the worst one I have experienced. The location is the only aspect that prevented me from giving it a much lower rating.
