We couldn’t ask for a better first day. It was Day 1 of our first real vacation in 5 years. We wanted to go back to a happy place.The Carter House Inn was that place. We had not been in Eureka in over 25 years. It was 100% better than before, and it was nice then. Beds were just right, beautiful styled comfortable rooms. It was wonderfully qui We had cocktails before dinner. It was a pleasure to just relax in a wonderful atmosphere with terrific staff. Dinner and Breakfast were done with great attention and detail.

This adorable hotel is nestled in the heart of Eureka. The staff is so welcoming and friendly. The place is beautiful and cozy. From the entrance of the main hotel, to the little bar, all the way to the rooms and how cozy yet spacious they were. Everything about the hotel was perfect. Also, the water pressure on the shower head: perfection!

After a comically horrible experience booking with another local inn that didn’t bother to inform me that the city had shut them down prior to arriving for our stay, my partner and were left scrambling to find alternative accommodations for our stay in Eureka. Despite the initial nightmare of arriving to an abandoned property after a long four hour drive, The Carter House Inn was luckily there to save the day with an available room, and not only completely saved our trip but ended up making it all the better. The check in/check out process was seamless and the amenities were abundant, and we couldn’t have asked for a more warm, friendly, and personable touch like the treatment we received from Troy and the entire Carter House team. I will definitely be staying there on a return visit in the future.
