Exceptional 10.0
Great hotel, great location.
This hotel is 50 years old, but show little signs of wear. Everything is updated, clean as can be and staff is very accommodating, especially with all the COVID restrictions in place. We were even given a free upgrade when our original room just didn’t have that “wow!” Factor.

Great getaway
Great stay! Nothing was open in the hotel due to Covid but my husband and I had a great stay. The views of the pier were beautiful and peaceful from the balcony. Great location close enough to all the attractions and restaurants (about a 10-15 min car ride). Originally we were told there would be no housekeeping service but to our surprise the maids came everyday. They cleaned bathroom, dumped trash and replaced linens. The hotel provided Starbucks gift cards and light refreshments in the lobby. The atrium was beautiful. Would definitely stay again once restrictions are lifted.

Two Thumbs up for Hyatt!
We got a Bay View room which was absolutely perfect! The bedding was soft, there were plenty of towels, a nice desk with plug-in options for various laptops and chargers, and a fridge for leftovers. Nick King at the front desk was very helpful and courteous. There were also a handful of amenities such as credits towards local eateries. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city!

1 king bed partial bath view w/ balcony
Due to covid they are currently not offering their valet service so we parked right around the corner in a garage and the max was only $35 a day not bad at all. The staff was polite/helpful. They offer water and snack in the lobby since their cafe/bar/restaurant are unable to be open during covid. The room was clean when we arrived. Had no issues during our stay it was one of the best quality hotels I’ve stayed in and a great deal for being in the city. Perfectly located to. I definitely will stay here again

Not great if you want to sleep
This is a very noisy hotel. If you are unlucky enough to have a room on the Market St side, there's a good chance the BART ventilation system will keep you up all night. It started at 11:00pm and sounded like a street sweeper truck had parked outside our window, we were on the 14th floor! The staff knew exactly what the noise was when we called at 1:00am for earplugs, and immediately moved us to the other side of the hotel when the earplugs didn't work at 2:00am. Then at 3:00am the fire alarms went off and we all had to leave the hotel. Needless to say not a lot of sleep was happening that night. The staff were great though, they upgraded our room for free no questions asked. Both rooms were spacious and clean, but a little dated. A friend was staying in one of the suites, and that was excellent, very large and totally modernized. That room was quiet too.

Fair 4.0
I live 2 blocks away & hoped to escape toxic work done in my apt with a relaxing night. Of course there are no amenities available which I understand. but I think the person checking me should have been kinder rather than present an issue re early check-in [which i had resolved the day prior!] Also, we had to evacuate at 3:30 a.m.!!! I never could get back to sleep. They did not compensate for any of it. I hope never to have to stay there again. :-(

Poor 2.0
First stay at a Hyatt and it will be our last!!
Front desk attendees were amazing, very informative and courteous. When we arrived, we found a toothbrush with toothpaste still on it on the floor, the table tops were grimy and cigarette butts on the balcony. The bed was so very hard and uncomfortable. Now i get that people have varying preferences but the bed was unused hard....NOT firm but HARD. I've had better nights sleep on camping trips. There was a fire evacuation b/c of a smoker in the stairway and all we received was a measly letter of acknowledgement that included a "yay for us, everything worked properly." I can tell you what doesn't work and that is their NO Smoking policy. Even as we were waiting in the elevator lobby to return to our rooms at 3:30 am, a couple was vaping w/o a single word of correction from hotel management. We could not enjoy the balcony because of so much smoking on the premises. Smoke coulld also be smelled in the room which we guessed was being filtered via the vents.

Very Good 8.0
Hyatt had a hard time locating my reservation. They tried it twice and still couldn’t find my reservation. Called me on day 2 of my day 3 to ask me to check out. I had to show the email confirming my dates with Hotel.com again so I could stay the 3rd day . They need to have a better interface between Hotel.com and Hyatt’s computer system. Otherwise, the location, accommodation, cleanliness and value were all top notched.
