"We returned from our 5day trek to the hotel where they were welcoming and kind. The people are the best! The location is just a short walk to the plaza and the neighborhood quiet and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel. "

"A experiência foi boa com um atendimento muito bom também, no entanto, o hotel precisa melhorar nos seguintes pontos: colocar blecaute para a cortina no quarto, instalar aquecedor nos quartos, dispor de pano de chão banheiro, uma vez que o boxe do chuveiro não é isolado totalmente, ficando totalmente molhado ao tomar banho. "

"This is a wonderful place with a staff that really care. They are currently remodeling and when they are done it will be fantastic. Rooms were clean and straight forward from what they offered. The staff always willing to help make our stay better. We had an early day tour and they offered to arrange a to-go snack/breakfast. They helped facilitate laundry service. We had some issues with the hot water and they responded immediately to get it taken care of.

"Hotel has great locations. It looks better on the pictures than in reality, but everything is quite ok.
I don’t understand why, but hotel close the water during night time. We arrived after midnight and no shower was possible.
Condition of the bathroom was poor. Tap and toilet have leakage.
Breakfast was so so, not bad not terrible. "

"It's a charming boutique hotel just steps away from the Plaza De Armas and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The music is pretty loud in the neighborhood and goes late, so if you're a light sleeper you may have difficulty. I used ear plugs, a sound machine, and white noise on youtube on the tv and slept fine. Using an Uber is a challenge as others have mentioned so you may be best off just walking to the Plaza and taking a cab."

Explore museums like Museo de Arte Precolombino and savor fusion and neo-Andean cuisine at local restaurants. Stroll through the artisan-filled San Blas neighborhood for a picturesque shopping experience.
Plaza de Armas is worth passing through for a few pics when in Cusco Historic Center. Why not live the cultural experience and visit the churches, museums, and cathedral in the area— your sightseeing tour starts here.
If you like strolling among the stalls, you might want to head out to San Pedro Market in Cusco Historic Center and take in the atmosphere. Splash some more cash at Santiago Plaza, Cusco Craft Center, and Calle Marquez.
If seeing the sights is on your list of things to do, head to Sacsayhuaman— just one of the landmarks located 1.9 mi (3.1 km) from central Cusco. You can also discover the churches and cathedral in the area— your sightseeing tour starts here.
Wander cobblestone streets lined with Incan stone walls and ornate colonial churches in this high-altitude city. Explore the ancient ruins of Sacsayhuamán or take a day trip to the legendary Machu Picchu.
This is a unique, historical city with great restaurants and lots to explore! Definitely spend time here before gift to Machu Picchu, to adjust to the altitude and relax into the Peruvian atmosphere. Jack's restaurant and Jill's are good and close!

I was in Cusco for 3 days and wish I had at least 6 to explore everything. This was my favorite stop in all of Peru! If you can, take extra time here to explore, but also give yourself a few days to acclimate to the elevation before any big hikes.

I believe many people visit Cusco before/after they visit Macchu Picchu, but Cusco has a lot to offer, too. I enjoyed visiting Pre Columbian Museum and the view from Mirador de San Cristobal was amazing. The restaurants were excellent as well.

Cusco is a beautiful city with lots to see and do. If planning to see many of the sites, get the integral tourist ticket and I would recommend a taxi up to Saccsayhuaman or Q'enqo and can walk down. Don't miss Sacred Valley as well.

Cusco is a very special city. The landscape is beautiful and the history is fascinating. It's a fairly peaceful town with lots of good vibrations. I can understand why the Incan Empire chose it for their Kings!

There's a lot of history in and around Cusco. It's worth taking a few tours. The square really came alive at night. We felt very safe walking around day or night. Cusco is a very clean city.

We hope to return to Cusco one day. It's a wonderful city with beautiful scenery, amazing food and art and a lovely, festive feel.
"Very good restaurant. Courtyard was very pleasant. Close to Plaza de armas, sights, shops and restaurants/bars. Staff very helpful. 24 hours reception which helps with early morning flights. "
"We travelled as a family and my daughter had a stomach issue from another city. The hotel service was very accommodating. I felt very special and welcome. I would recommend this hotel 100%. I will come back!!"
"This was the most perfect place to stay! The entire staff was so kind and amazing and made our stay in Cusco so great. Breakfast was delicious and when we had an early morning to Machu Pichu, they had breakfast to go for us! Would highly recommend staying at Casa Cruz Verde! "
"The hotel and staff are excellent. It is about 10 minutes walking from Plaza de Armas.
The location itself is one of the must-see alleys in Cusco, Siete Borreguitos, decorated with many plants and wall art.
Highly recommended :-)"
"Best place we stayed on our Peru trip. Very cute, close to Plaza de Armas, tasty breakfast every morning, friendly staff, good shower pressure / heating. Would recommend this place if you're staying in Cusco!"
"The location is convenient for walking around town. Plenty of restaurants and stores for shopping. Staff were excellent and always help with your luggage. We developed altitude sickness but the hotel had oxygen and an on-call doctor if needed. The breakfast is open 3a-10a. So many options, especially native foods. I would 10/10 recommend this hotel!!"
"Wonderful staff, breakfast, rooms, and location. Great value and would definitely stay again. The location is hard to beat. Short walk to Plaza Mayor and the market. Cusco is incredible and must be experienced at least once!"
"Breakfast is one of the best in Cusco. Also food in cafe is surprisingly great and cheap. Room in 3rd floor had remodeled bathroom. Clean and nice. Will definitely stay here again. "
"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
At the heart of Cusco, Hotel del Sur is a gem. The staff was friendly, attentive and makes you feel like family. The rooms were clean and cozy, breakfast fresh and healthy. The location was perfect — close to the San Pedro market and walking distance to the Plaza de Armas. Loved the indoor terrace for relaxing after a day of exploring. Thank you Almicar and Carmen to make my stay unforgettable. Highly recommended!"
"The staff was FANTASTIC! There was always someone at the lobby, 24/7 and everyone was always smiling and willing to help.
The rooms were clean, the beds were cozy and warm (with an extra blanket!), the wifi was quite good, although there were moments it wasn’t loading. The hotel was very well located! It was near the main square and many restaurants.
The breakfast was quite complete, I just wish there had been a few more gluten free options, but there were a few good options to pick from:)
Also the staff packed us a breakfast for when our excursion left at 4am, which was so kind of them!
I unfortunately suffered from altitude sickness and the staff was very understanding and helpful, they instantly called over a doctor and when I was sick again the next day, they provided an oxygen tank. I am really appreciative of their help and kindness:)
Overall, the staff is what makes Taypikala so wonderful:) "
"My husband and I loved staying here. We stayed for 5 nights. We loved the design of the hotel. The host Atenas was amazing and so kind. She help us a lot and was flexible. The included breakfast is healthy and a great start to the day. If you’re staying in Cusco, I highly recommend here. Great location to a ton of city attractions like the main plaza, San Pedro Market and much more. We walked and explored the city with ease. "
"Amazing location, close to all the main tourist attractions! The hotel was spotless, elegant, and very well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful, and every detail made our stay feel special. Perfect for anyone wanting comfort and convenience in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended"
"It is in the San Blas area so there is a walk uphill to the hotel. Streets and sidewalks are narrow which is why the neighborhood is unique which also means that you will need to go meet any tour vans. In our case someone always came to the hotel and walked us to the meeting points. Taxis and Ubers went right to the hotel. Just a 10-minute or so walk to the main plaza. Plenty of small fun restaurants in the area. If you need laundry done, then do it through the hotel it was cheap. They also arranged taxis to and from airport and more. The breakfast was great as was the staff in general."
"The property is close to the main plaza which can easily be reached with a 5 min walk. Rooms are simple but clean and nice-European style. Staff was very helpful and friendly throughout the entire visit. Beds were nice but very firm-if you like soft beds you may want a different style hotel. But I found them to be comfortable. WiFi is accessible throughout the property and reliable. "
"From the outside this property is unassuming. Once you enter, it’s a whole other world. The staff were friendly and Juanita’s brownies hit the spot. The hotel is quaint and unique. The staff provided an early morning snack to go for our early tour departure. They held luggage for other travelers as well. The location is within a walking distance of the main square, restaurants and shopping. Highly recommend!"
"Awesome location right in the Plaza de Armas. Staff were friendly and helpful. We couldn’t figure how to turn on the heat and they came right up to demonstrate how to use it. Provided a breakfast to go when we had an early morning tour. Soap was hand crafted. Conveniently located near Starbucks. "
"We loved the location close to the San Pedro Market. Everything was very close. The breakfast provided was wonderful. We also liked there was a variety of tea options offered throughout the day. The beds were comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water."
