Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel, Cusco
Amazing hotel. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that the hotel is also a museum so make sure to take the audio tour. All the staff was extremely friendly in every interaction with them. The room was spacious and beautiful and the bathroom was what I would expect from a 5 star hotel (heated floors, jacuzzi tub, 4 shower-head shower). The restaurant food and service, for both breakfast and dinner, were on par with the rest of the services provided by the hotel - amazing. The resturaunt is also only one to two blocks from the Plaza de Armas which has plenty of restaurants and plenty of Alpaca clothing stores. I plan to visit Cusco again in the future and I plan to recommend this hotel to all family and friends.

Surprised by the 9 am check out time
For one night in Cusco we thought we'd splurge and stay in a nicer hotel; we picked the Aranwa mostly based on the pictures. It is a really pretty hotel in the center of town located in an old villa. The chandeliers are gorgeous, breakfast is great, and the food in the restaurant is good too. It is a really quiet and plush hotel. The biggest down side for us, though, was the check out time at 9 am. It wasn't mentioned when we checked in so we assumed it was 10 (I see now that it is listed as 9 on They called us at 9:30 to tell us we needed to check out. I can't believe they needed the room that quickly as we saw very few people in the hotel, and it ended up leaving a bad final impression for us of the hotel.

Great. But the rooms near the courtyard are noisy if you open the window and not airy enough if you close it.

Be careful of noisy room
A nice hotel very close to the main square. Breakfast was fine and the room was large. I was suffering from altitude but didn't seem to make a difference with the apparent extra oxygen in the room. Room 301 was near the hotels laundry room which meant that there was a spin cycle on from 2am till 7am which woke us up. Another thing to note is hotel transportation. I had arranged to be collected from the airport providing my flight details. My flight was delayed and there was no driver. I had to ring the hotel only to be told that they didn't think we were coming rather than checking the flight details.
