The beds in the room were not real bad. They were mattresses on metal frames. Some of the lights were hard to work. Shower was hard to work. Room size was good but a lot of money for an OK hotel. It is in a very good location though, and the staff of one was very nice.

This was our 7th stay at Merrion Row and we have stayed in many different hotels in New York. This quaint hotel is perfectly situated in Times Square but you wouldn’t know it. It’s quiet and charming, a lovely respite in the middle of the crazy Times Square.

The staff and the owner make you feel like family We met them two years ago while staying at a different establishment This year we chose to stay at Merrion Row and we were not disappointed Will stay with them each time we return to NY The beds, linens and pillows were quite comfortable Took us a while to figure out how to turn the lights over the bed off Perhaps that should be included in the room instructions I googled it and the secret was there! Just bend the little reading lights down towards the wall The chef is amazing! Very fresh greens and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection The navel oranges taste like they were just picked from the tree Daniel, Hugo, Sebastian, at the bar were unforgettable and our server Christian always with a smile! Shona the manager helped us navigate NY and made us feel so at home She had the answers to all of our questions The closest thing to Ireland you can feel including Connolly s bar and The Perfect Pint!

My wife and 2 kids (13 & 11) had a great trip. It was a heat wave in New York while we were there. The air conditioning was on and there was a lovely scent when welcoming you back to a very clean and beautiful hotel. Location was 1/2 a block from Time Square which made everything very convenient. I would recommend for any family.

I really loved (most) everything about this hotel. The staff were all really really helpful, welcoming, kind, friendly -- everyone I encountered, whether it was during breakfast, checking in and out, answering the phone later to get a new copy of my hotel bill... the staff for me earned this spot 5 stars and nothing can change my mind. The hotel isn't big, only 6 floors and one really slow elevator (if you're looking for something critique, but seriously take the stairs, it's good for you and 6 flights at the most). But that means it isn't like the jam packed Hiltons and Marriotts in Midtown. Also a big difference from those big chains: there is a bar and a restaurant in the hotel. The breakfast was top notch (one of the best ham and cheese omelets I've ever eaten) and you get a $25 credit to spend daily to net out the stupid resort fees that hotels are all intent on charging these days. There is no coffee maker in the room (unless I missed it) but I didn't care about that. There was a robe and free water though. The bathroom lighting isn't great but not bad enough to knock this down a star. The location is great, not too close to Times Square, a short jaunt to Bryant Park. I will definitely stay here again.

Couldn’t ask for a better location if you are going to Broadway shows. But rooms are small, staff can be indifferent, and price is very high. Depends what trade/offs you are able to make.
