The Traditional Art Market buzzes with local craftspeople selling intricate batiks and wood carvings. Campuhan Ridge Walk rewards early risers with emerald valley views while traditional dance performances light up Ubud Palace nightly. Most visitors navigate the compact center on foot, though scooter rentals and ride-sharing apps make exploring rice terraces beyond town easy. Boutique hotels and traditional guesthouses nestle among tropical gardens, offering peaceful retreats from the lively cultural hub.

Small family-run warungs serve delicious nasi campur and traditional satay at wallet-friendly prices. Most places close early, matching the village's natural rhythms. Homestays and modest guesthouses offer genuine cultural exchange with Balinese families. Walking paths connect to central Ubud in about 20 minutes, with motorcycle taxis available for quicker trips.

Stay in converted family compounds where roosters serve as your alarm clock. Local warungs dish up authentic nasi campur and bebek betutu for just a few dollars. Getting around requires ojeks or rented bicycles since public transport is limited. Morning mist over the rice fields makes every early wake-up worthwhile.

Sambahan
Sambahan offers a peek into real Balinese village life where rice terraces roll into the distance and temple ceremonies fill the air. This peaceful spot lets you step away from tourist crowds and into a world of traditional architecture, morning gamelan music, and aromatic incense from daily offerings. Take gentle walks through lush tropical landscapes or learn about rice farming from locals who've done it for generations. Meals here come from family homestays and simple warungs serving authentic Balinese cooking with ingredients from nearby gardens. Getting around means walking narrow village paths or arranging private transport to nearby Ubud. Traditional compounds with thatched roofs and carved details provide a genuine cultural immersion for travelers seeking the quiet side of Bali.

Element by Marriott Bali Ubud
"We had such a wonderful stay and truly felt at home from the moment we arrived. The entire team was warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind, and their hospitality made our time here especially memorable. A special thank you to **Erik at the restaurant**, who was incredibly kind and had impeccable attention to detail. He consistently went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well cared for. His thoughtfulness and genuine warmth really stood out and added so much to our experience. We are very grateful to the entire team for creating such a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. It’s the people and the thoughtful service that can turn a beautiful hotel into a place that feels like home, and that was certainly our experience here. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our family. We leave with very fond memories of our stay and truly appreciate the hospitality we received."
Alaya Resort Ubud

The Evitel Resort Ubud
"Excellent location in centre of Ubud. Rooftop pool was nice, buffet breakfast was good. Bed was comfy"
The Udaya Resorts and Spa
"A Peaceful Ubud Retreat with Exceptional Food and Amenities We were very happy with our stay at The Udaya Resorts and Spa. The resort is located in a quiet and peaceful area, about 10 minutes or so by car from the main part of Ubud. While it is a little away from the centre, we actually enjoyed being away from the crowds and found it a relaxing place to stay. For a four-star property, we were particularly impressed with the room amenities and the quality of the food. In fact, we found the overall experience here even better than some of the five-star properties we stayed at during our trip, including Sudamala in Sanur. I would definitely recommend The Udaya Resorts and Spa to travellers looking for a more peaceful and less busy Ubud experience, while still being within easy driving distance of the main attractions and town centre. A very enjoyable stay overall."
Impiana Private Villas Ubud
"The most amazing place. Just luxury. Absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to come back."
SereS Springs Resort & Spa Singakerta
"The property was lovely and the staff were amazing. I booked for a birthday trip, they went the extra mile to Dee"
Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana
"From the moment we arrived, we felt relaxed and welcome. We booked tanah gajah for our honeymoon and wish we had stayed for longer than 4 nights! The hotel has so much to offer - a tethered hot air balloon (worth every penny), professional photographer, rice field paddy tour and kedac dance nights. The staff were all brilliant and we slept amazingly well. We would definitely recommend the resort to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in Ubud."
Adiwana Alas Harum
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Adiwana Alas Harum. Our Jungle View Villa was spacious, beautifully designed, and offered amazing jungle views that made the experience feel truly special. The breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious, and the resort amenities were well maintained and enjoyable. The staff deserve a special mention for their exceptional hospitality, always friendly, attentive, and willing to help with any request. A perfect place to relax and unwind, and we would not hesitate to return"
Bali Bohemia
"Front desk, staff and manager, we’re very helpful in managing and finding a solution to an issue I had and for that I am grateful. The property was gorgeous beautifully and tastefully decorated. However, you are near the monkey forest so they will be around the hotel, but they do not bother anyone unless you have eye contact with them which is not good so just keep walking. Great area as well lots of food to eat and things to do like the swing and zip line. They also have a restaurant and a bakery on premises, which is also very good. Thank you for everything."
