Family run hotel and very welcoming. Ideal for solo traveller and only 100m from rail station and main bus centre for Pisa. Room is small but comfortable. Expect some town noise so wear ear plugs when sleeping. Highly recommend on price and location.

A gem of a find!

We were looking for a hotel for an overnight stay in Pisa before going on to Venice and what a find Hotel Maria was! A lovely little characterful place within metres of the railway station. The staff were very friendly & helpful, the room a decent size & the surrounding area surprisingly quiet. I would definitely book again.

Close to train station, one mile to tower. Close to main shopping and good restaurants close by. Only thing we didn't like was the shower doors were tight, similar to an RV. Otherwise a good stay. Would suggest you have you own bathroom and get A/C, otherwise the city sounds may bother some.

We had a cancelled flight and needed to find accommodation in Pisa quickly. We were glad we chose Hotel Maria at the last minute. Friendly and efficient check in and we were given a bigger room than booked, which was appreciated. Although a small space, it was extremely clean and the bed was super comfortable. Literally a 2 minute walk to the train station and the Pisamover for our trip back to the airport so very convenient. Thank you for having us :)

Good area but very noisy

The hotel is in a great location right beside the train station. The staff always said hello and were pleasant. The big downside was the noise. It seems like a whole family live in the hotel to run it, so dogs and children made a lot of noise throughout the day. We were in a ground floor room and you could hear every single thing that went on in the room above, including people in their toilet.

The Property was lovely and excellent value for money. I would like to return on my way back however I won't because of only one issue I found that I didn't like and that was the spray the housekeeper uses in the rooms apparently. I know this because I asked the gentleman on the desk what the strong smell was and he came to my room and said yes the spray. I kept the window open for air which was a shame because the air-conditioning was very good but the overpoweringly smell was too much for me to deal with. That said if your not bothered with these sorts of smells then apart from this it's a brilliant place for sure. The housekeeper was lovely too had I known the first night I arrived she is spraying the room I would have asked her next day not to spray as I was booked in for 2 nights I'm afraid I couldn't go back, that in my humble opinion was the only issue of my personal complaint. Beautiful coffee and pistachios pastry I had on my departure the staff are lovely too
