Cudos for the owners for keeping it going. An historic and peaceful place in the desert.

I only booked this place because it was the closest to Death Valley National Park. If you don't need to be close, I recommend Pahrump, NV.

Pity there are no marks for charm and singularity. This is just not your normal motel, nor is Amargosa hamlet, which is a photographer's. Staying there was a memorable experience for all sorts of good reasons. Boring and bland it is not.
Bed comfy, aircon works.
Shame windows don't open. Bring your own food, there's nothing around.
Good jumping off for DV and just up the road from Shoshone and its wonderful museum. Watch the stars way out in the desert.

Super cool history & tour of the property. Staff was friendly & knowledgeable. Water in the shower was extremely cold but the property is very old, so no biggie. Totally worth it. Would stay here again!

Rooms were clean and well-maintained. The hotel itself is charming and the staff was very kind. Take the tour if you can and learn more about Marta Beckett and the history of the hotel! The surrounding desert was nice to walk in as the sun rose. Some of the rooms were hand painted by Beckett and I got lucky enough to be in one!

It’s an amazing building and if you love history and old building you should stay. it’s also very old and sparse with few amenities and fragile plumbing and bad WiFi. The price is reasonable all things considered and regardless you should do the tour.

Rustic and historic. That’s what you’re booking. This place is in original condition and prides itself on it. There was a place in time where a facility such as this existed but has long disappeared because of technology and amenities. You are booking an experience not an amenity. This place is a destination within itself. Kudos for the owner’s belief that people will party for the experience. Rooms are clean, bed is clean but sparse. Again you’re there for the history. Don’t change a thing. Don’t you draw.

Step into the charm of a 100-year-old vintage hotel, renowned for its rich history and timeless allure. This iconic establishment is a must-visit for any traveler seeking to experience a piece of living history. While the rooms maintain their classic, aged aesthetic, they are meticulously kept, ensuring a clean and authentic stay.

The opera house is very interesting and nice to see but it needs updating badly. The room we stayed in had peeling paint on the ceiling and the shower had cracked tiles. It is very old and the hot water took forever to get to the shower. Then the faucet was broken so it dripped all night. The owner was very nice, though.

This is a truly unique property that is a historical part of the region. The hotel is 100 years old and is very basic and simple, but it's a fun trip back in time with great staff and really cool architecture. It's a great experience. I later read that I stayed in one of the most haunted rooms but I slept like a baby both nights. Also, great place to explore death valley from
