Room was great as well as staff

The Hotel is nicely located at a train station close to centraal and schiphol. New and well decorated. Unfortunately our room had an aircondition that was very loud and was not able to be controlled. We informed about it but they did not seem interested in the problem.

Overall I enjoyed my stay at Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Sloterdijk Station. The hotel was close to the train station which meant it was easy to get out and about. The room I stayed in was very spacious with ample room to move about. The bathroom was also larger than expected. The only minor dissatisfaction with the room was I could see the Girl with the Pearl Earring painting in the room had what looked like some liquid streak on it which you could see at an angle, as well as some liquid streaks on the door that opened up the area for where the kettle is. One thing of note to anyone looking to stay at this particular hotel. There are major roadworks going on in front of the hotel which means the access to the train station is to go around the roadworks which isn't a lot more walking but still a detour to direct access. Whilst we were there which was over the weekend and a couple of days into the week there wasn't any actual work so there was not any noise disturbance. However, I can imagine that being an issue for hotel guests when work is going on outside the hotel.

Great stay! Friendly staff. If not for slow wifi, could have been five stars.

The location was perfect. Under 5 minute walk to the train station that brought you to Amsterdam Centraal as well as Shiphol Airport and if you get a regional 3 day pass even out to the surrounding suburbs like Haarlem and the seaside resort of Zandvoort. It’s a quiet area and does not have much to offer for restaurants but it’s so close to Amsterdam city.

Room was small but clean. Breakfast was nice as well. However I was sprung with a hidden city fee that I had to pay before checking in which I was not made aware of beforehand.

Very clean hotel, rooms a really good size,2 mins walk from train station, takes 5 mins to city centre by train. Staff were all very friendly and happy. Breakfast, what can I say, the choice is unreal, think I ate my weight in creamy mushrooms for breakfast. The Mercure will be my choice from now on.
