This hotel, located right across the street from the Charleston market, is updated and well maintained for older properties. The staff was exceptional, providing incredible hospitality. A beautiful hotel of the old south, the rooms are modern and well kept. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, the staff is wonderful, friendly and very helpful. Continental breakfast, wine and cheese at 6, and chocolate chip cookies every evening! Love this place!

The location is excellent!!! We walked to everything on our 3 day stay, except Lewis bbq. The hotel is old, but updated. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast and cocktail hour were better than I expected and we enjoyed the courtyard for that. The staff was helpful and other customers were also friendly. points less favorable: there is a big construction project happening next door. It was not an issue for us(Oct 2026), but might be noisy when construction starts. the elevator nearest the lobby was out of service . Hopefully that’s resolved already.

The staff was pleasant and helpful. The property could use some updating. And the AC was awfully noisy. I had an issue with the AC not cooling and maintenance came very promptly.
