Raise a glass at the Iron Door Saloon, where California's oldest continuously operating watering hole serves history alongside cold beer. Pine Mountain Lake offers a serene escape with its marina and golf course for those seeking relaxation before adventure. The town serves as the perfect basecamp for exploring Yosemite National Park through either the Big Oak Flat or Hetch Hetchy entrances. Local tour operators can guide even novice hikers to spectacular vistas that explain why John Muir fell in love with these mountains. Don Pedro Reservoir beckons with its expansive waters for fishing and boating when Yosemite's crowds become too much. This tiny mountain community of just 540 souls somehow manages to welcome thousands without losing its frontier character.

Yosemite View Lodge
"Incredible place to stay."
Cedar Lodge
"First off - you would only stay here if visiting Yosemite, and there are few alternatives this close to the park entrance on the South side. The room was clean and well presented, though furnishings a little dated. Bathroom appeared more modern. In-room AC unit didn't seem to function fully as the night went on. We all slept well in the room, which was clean and quiet, with parking just by the door. For eats, would recommend that if staying there you make a plan for meals. We ate there in evening - expect to pay park/attraction level prices for very regular food. Also got very busy while we were there (there's nothing else within close range), and the 2 servers quickly became overwhelmed. We chose to dodge breakfast and just nibble on our own snacks. All that being said, staying there saves an extra 30-60 mins drive to a Hampton/HIExp type hotel, which suited our needs. Reception staff, though busy, were friendly & very helpful. Seemed to be best option/choice for closeness to Yosemite NP, but you should be prepared for functional comfort levels rather than luxury."
Rush Creek Lodge and Spa at Yosemite
"We loved our stay at Rush Creek. The property is beautiful and there are amenities and activities galore! Very family friendly. And it is just a few minutes from the Yosemite entrance."
Heritage Inn Yosemite/Sonora
"Would recommend this to others"
Yosemite Westgate Lodge
"It is a cute lodge in the mountains. Ideal for location to the park"
Curry Village
"Well organized glamping with clean facilities"
Buck Meadows Lodge
"Loved it! So quiet, charming place to stay with a little diner and bar on the property."
AutoCamp Yosemite
"This was an excellent stay! Extremely"
The Groveland Hotel
"The Groveland Hotel was an amazing stay! They were super friendly and our room/the whole property was beautiful and clean"
