This hotel is in an excellent location for exploring the city, not far from Waverley station and next to The Dome. When we booked we told the hotel that this was a wedding anniversary trip and there was a card and a bottle of prosecco chilling in the room when we arrived which was a lovely surprise. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment about the food. Some reviews have said that the hotel can be noisy but we didn't experience this, in fact our room was very quiet.

Our room (Reykjavik) was very spacious and the bed was really comfortable. The hotel itself was well presented. We didn't get chance to use the bar or sample the food, but it looked really nice. We will definitely stay here again.

Clean, great location to food and shopping. The staff were very nice and we enjoyed the free WiFi. Restaurant on premises made an excellent breakfast (not complimentary) but service was slow. The air conditioning in our room did not function on two hot days. The street below was a little noisy when trying to sleep with all windows open. Will not book again.

4/10 Fair

On arrival, our check in was smooth and efficient. We were assigned the Berlin room and on arrival at our room we were very impressed. The decor and style was fabulous. A sleep kit and pillow spray and our dressing gowns were laid out nearly on the bed and all looked great. We went out to a meal to catch up with some friends and returned at 11pm. On return we realised why there was a sleep kit. At least 50 young people were queued below our window for the disco in the lane way at the back of the hotel. Their revelry through single glazed windows , felt like they were literally in our room. By 12.30 when we could no longer stick the noise, I rang reception 3 times with no reply so I put on my dressing and went down. The night staff member came up to our room to check if the window was fully shut and assured me it was. He suggested we use the EARPLUGS supplied in the sleep kit. To say the least, I was not impressed. After a sleepless night we again went to reception in am. The receptionist was very apologetic and told us to email the manager. We asked if the disco would be on again the next night and she confirmed our worst fears, leaving us no option but to cancel our second night and get an early flight home. Please be aware of the noise at this hotel with nearby disco going on all night and single glazing in bedrooms.

Hotel is nice and comfortable with good size rooms and nice bathrooms. Location is fantastic - we were one block away from the Christmas markets - literally a 3 minute walk. Also situated next door to The Dome. Nice and pleasant stay in a great area.
