6/10 Good

I booked Ahoy because it was listed as a 5-star hotel on Hotels.com with excellent reviews. After staying here, I honestly don’t understand the rating. It’s not a bad hotel, but it feels much closer to a good 3-star property.
The rooms were spacious but had hard beds, inconsistent A/C, a musty smell, and it took around 15 minutes to get hot water. Soundproofing is almost non-existent—you hear kids at the pool, hallway conversations, and staff walkie-talkies even with the windows closed.
Breakfast was disappointing (2/5), with limited choice, while the restaurant was hit and miss. The two pools are small, and I even cut my foot on a broken pool filter cover. The gym is basic, but the spa was good and reasonably priced. The free shuttle to town and the beach is a nice bonus.
The staff were always friendly. After I hurt my foot, they noticed I hadn’t come to breakfast and kindly sent a breakfast plate to my room without me asking—a thoughtful gesture that I really appreciated.
Hoi An Ancient Town is about 15–20 minutes away, and finding a Grab back can be difficult at night.
Overall, this is a decent hotel, but don’t book it expecting a luxury 5-star resort
